Extremely Comfortable!
This belt is not only very comfortable but fastens securely - my 2 main concerns. I am very happy with this purchase.

which become painful now and then as a result of an accident ...
I'm 5'8" and weigh about 185 lbs. This size works just right for me. It's mainly for the area of my lower ribs, which become painful now and then as a result of an accident some years ago. I also have a similar belt with metal stays for motorcycle riding (called a kidney belt) that helps protect from a rough road ride. This new product is similar and also very helpful for the lower ribs.

Could be better
Unfortunately this Rib Belt is stiff. I've had a difficult time finding one where the area the Velcro attaches to is too narrow making the rough part of the Velcro overlap causing rubbing against the skin. They just aren't made as well as they could be in general in both fit design and comfort. I did receive it quickly and in great condition.
