Merrell Trail Chaser Running Shoe

These shoes are AWESOME!! I buy these for my boys each time they grow out of their old shoe sizes. They hold up amazingly well for having two boys who play outside in the dirt every day. They are pretty rough on their shoes and these last me close to a year, or at least until they grow out of them it seems like. They work well with any of the socks they wear and are easy for them to put on since they don't have laces. The velcro closures always work well. They soles have great grip so they don't slide down the hilly areas. They always fit great as well. My boys say they are comfortable and breathable. I think they have pretty good arch supports as well because they never complain that their shoes are uncomfortable and they never get blisters. I have been buying these for the last 6 years and have always had good luck with them. Really great shoes!!

Grandson has a wide foot and shoes fit perfectly. They seem well made and perfect for hiking the Colorado mountains. He loves them.

Shopping for shoes for three boys at the same time is no easy task, so I was glad to come across the Merrell Trail Chaser. I’ve had good experiences with Merrell shoes for myself, but this was my first time trying their kids' line. Honestly, the price and the brand were what caught my attention, especially since other kids’ shoes from unknown brands were more expensive on Amazon. The color selection was a nice bonus—I was able to get each of my boys their own color, which made it easy to keep track of whose shoes were whose. More importantly, all three say the fit is great, and I haven’t heard a single complaint. We went on a family hike recently, and the shoes held up well. The kids had no issues with comfort, and the grip on the soles gave me peace of mind that they were stable on rough terrain. Overall, I’m really pleased with these shoes. They’re solid, comfortable, and well-priced, especially for a trusted brand like Merrell.

Purchases for a camping trip with my six-year-old boy. The fit is great and it’s easy for him to put this on. They look good and are comfortable, but we have had them for about a month and a half and probably wears them 2 to 3 times a week to school. Fairly early, I noticed it fraying along the liner (see photo). I would say it was the way he was wearing them except my daughter has the same shoes (diff color) and the same thing happened to hers. The shoes are still fine, but the torn fabric You makes them look very worn and broken.

I bought these recently (October 2025) for my daughter (6 years-old) who loves to hike. These are outstanding trail shoes. She said they were comfortable right out of the box, and the day she got them we went on a long hike in a forest in the mountains. She was handily climbing up and down rocks, running on the flat bits, and it was slick following a rain, too. They are stable, etc., in the ways you'd want, too. A+

My son's first hike with these was in Rocky Mountain National Park. Several trails and they withstood whatever terrain thrown at them. He said they are comfortable, supportive, with excellent traction. Great Merrell Quality.

Great looking walking shoe, comfortable, but bottom completely fell off after a few months. Poor quality, not up to the brand’s typical standards. Money down the drain.

Ich bin so froh, endlich passende Schuhe für mein Sohn gefunden zu haben. Mein Sohn hat einen breiten Fuß und hohen Spann, es ist wirklich nicht leicht passende Schuhe zu finden. Lurchi, Superfit in Schuhweite weit waren zu klein. Diese Schuhe von Merrell sind breit, haben hohen Spann, sehr gute Qualität. Die Schuhe fallen normal aus, mein Sohn hat Größe 37, und 37 hier passen super. Bin sehr zufrieden.
