Outstanding light for any job
I've used this light bar on all sorts of home projects from working inside my hot tub to fix a leak to doing break jobs that end up stretching into darker hours. Between the magnetic base (that seems to stick to anything), rubberized bottom with feet to keep if from rolling down the driveway, and the swiveling carabiner style hook at the top, which is perfect to hanging onto springs or coils. Under the hood, my car doesn't come with a hood-light, so this thing just get's magnet-stuck to the hood and it provides a clean, even, white light over the entire engine bay. The brightness is perfect, the flexing shaft allows for precise aiming. I don't normally get too excited about a shop light, but I have to admit this thing is impressive. It even survived an evening of my 6 year old boy pretending it's a light saber without a scratch on it.... I've already put it back on my wishlist and hope to get one or two more to have around the house.

LED's plus no cord = perfect
I got this for a gift for my father inlaw because he was spendin a couple hundred bucks a year on light bulbs for his traditional drop light but so far I have used it more so I'll review it. All you have to do is charge it for a few hours and you good to go. It has a high and low setting and kind of focuses the light in one direction as to not blid you. The carabiner thing on top spins if you can find something to clip on to. This light also bends in the middle quite a bit and has a pretty potent magnet on the base as well. One issue with the magnet is if you plan to ever stick it to your cars paint I would highley recomend that you put some masking or duct tape on the base because it does get coverd with small iorn specks that will scratch your paint job, this I learned the hard way, just peal off the tape and the magnets fresh and clean.

Goofy Design Issues, Doesn't Work and Never Has
Turns off after a minute or two even after a complete charge. Comes with detailed instructions on charging it up right away, and every thirty days thereafter. Has a ribbon attached to it explaining what to do if you have problems with it. Obviously they expect people to have trouble with it. I didn't realize right away that it was junk because I used it only briefly, and missed my return window. I'm supposed to call customer support now but I won't waste any time on that nonsense. It's worse than worthless because it stays on long enough for you to get elbows deep in something and then shuts off. Pretty much the same thing goes for the SB0109 SquidBrite Work Light which I purchased along with this one. The SquidBrite has an easy to locate switch but the electrical design is very similar. Shuts itself off after a minute or so. Very unreliable. Even if it worked it would be junk. Who wants a rechargeable light you can't swap batteries out on? You use it for a little while, the battery drains down, and then you're in the dark while it slowly charges back up and that is if you have an outlet nearby. So good luck changing a tire alongside the road at night with this poser of a portable work light.

Really nice light, overly sensitive switch
I am a marine electrician so a cordless light is a very important tool that allows me to inspect and work in confined, dark places. In general this is a very good light, and with some small changes could be an excellent tool. My first issue involves the quality...although seemingly of good quality the safety catch in the carabiner-style hanging hook broke after the second use. I can still hang the light, but the “flapping” catch is an annoyance and I will likely just cut it off. The second significant issue involves the power switch, which is not covered or recessed into the handle. In fact, it protrudes slightly. This in itself might not be a problem but the switch is touch sensitive, so it only requires the slightest touch to turn on. This has led to multiple cases of inadvertently turning the light on, and when you are in a lit space and the light is left LED’s down, you don’t notice the light is on so you deplete the batteries. The 2 stage brightness is great, the flexible shaft works well. I have not used the USB charging port, but I did unfortunately turn it on by mistake which quickly discharged the battery. The magnetic base is a nice feature, but my preference would be to make the magnetic base removable, or to offer a model without the mag base as I occasionally work near magnetically sensitive equipment and therefore can’t use this light in those instances.I find this light to be an excellent device that I use nearly every day, and in my opinion would greatly benefit from a less sensitive or more protected power switch.

Very Good Light, Charge Will Not Last Through Long Jobs Though
This is a very well made LED work light. It has bright and dim light modes. As some reviewers have noted the beam and intensity may not adequate for illuminating hard to see areas under the hood or car. It also has a strobe setting for inducing seizures for yourself and loved ones close to the light. I suppose the strobe feature would also be useful for stunning an attacker who tries to rob you during vehicle maintenance. Full charge lasts about 3 hours on brightest setting. 7 on dim setting. You can run the light while it is plugged in but you will need an extension cord. If you're changing your oil or doing fixes in dark spaces around the house this thing is for you. If you're pulling a transmission you will need to fork out the extra cash for some well made pedestal lights that need to be plugged in.
