High Quality, Versatile, Flexible, Awesome Sounding
This is a really neat product. I got one in a hurry because I needed a microphone and amp to help my in-laws who were in a jam with guests needing to speak at a memorial service. It worked so well for that (great sound, rugged, easy set up, allowed easy connection and mixing in of an iPod for the musical part of the service), and I was so impressed with it, that a few weeks after the service I actually went out and got a second one and a pair of stands for the two of them (any generic microphone stand with a threaded top where the arm connects will work with these - they have a fixture built into the bottom like a camera/tripod system). With one of these you have a nice compact punchy little amp/monitor that has a really handy built in four input mixing board. But with two of these, you can link them together and you now have a twice as powerful stereo sound system with really flexible virtual "mixing board" built in - you can accept, mix balance, amplify and simultaneiously record up to 8 separate inputs. It is a really cool and flexible little system. Power with one is plenty to fill a decent size room, and with two it is more than enough to fill a large crowed hall. Very clean well-defined and punchy bass, smooth clear uncolored mid range and nice crisp clear extended high end. These kinds of systems are designed to be rugged and handle over driving, not compare with an audiophile grade stereo system, and yet they sound really amazing in their own right. And for situations where you need even more power, you could always use these as your mixing console and for near-field monitoring and plug the outputs into a much bigger guitar amp or the like. Good stuff! I now have them in the kids' playroom on stands, and they have plugged their keyboard into them, have a couple microphones (one for singing and one for when they play their guitar or two for duets) and they put an iPod into it for fooling around with karaoke. And of course with school aged kids this is a really useful thing to have for the inevitable charity auctions, carnivals, talent shows, etc. Everybody wants to borrow these. One minor thing I have to note, though: I agree with the other reviewer who noted that the stickers peel the paint off - it is true. Doesn't show at all from a couple feet away, but happened on both of mine too. Not a biggie - doesn't take away from the 5 star rating!

Awesome, versatile PA
This is a clean sounding little PA with great range. I bought one of these from Amazon about a year and a half ago, and it gets used almost every day. i bought another one used at a music shop so that i could get a little more volume outside. A pair of these can be set up as right and left speakers connected by a patch cable, and they obviously mount on mic stands. I use them as a pair or just a single all the time for: Playing MP3's and Internet radio on the pool deck. Under partially open garage doors while playing basketball As an easy carry PA for scout events, work stuff, auctions. As powered speakers with a projector for outside movie night My kids often carry one around with an iPod just to listen to music in their rooms or wherever. The church has a more complicated, battery powered setup. It was more expensive, the batteries go flat after just a few hours, it isn't loud enough to use outside, the system is really heavy, you still have to carry mic stands... My set-up is a lot better as long as there is power pretty close to where you are setting up.

Amazing Sound for Such a Tiny Package
I used a massive secondhand guitar amp for my keyboard for years, and finally decided to replace it with this one. It was a great decision, and despite being about a quarter the size of my old amp, the Roland puts out bigger and better sound by far. The sound quality is good enough to capture the range of sound a keyboard requires. I mostly play classical and jazz, and in combination with a high quality digital keyboard, it can sound about as close as you'll get to a real piano. It's also powerful enough that one will suffice - when I bought one, I thought I'd end up getting a second monitor if I liked it, but one is plenty. The size is a nice side advantage, whether you want it to travel or not. I don't travel with my keyboard often, but having the monitor fit underneath one end of the keyboard, against the wall, is a great change from having a huge amp that has to sit behind or to the side of the keyboard. Overall, this is a great buy, especially if you need something for a keyboard. You won't find better quality in a smaller or less expensive package than this.

Exceeded all expectations
I was looking for a small, high quality monitor for use in the Praise Band at church. I needed to run my Boss GT-100 and vocals through it on stage. This little speaker is more than loud enough for a good size stage with reasonable stage volume. It is built extremely well/very solid and sounds incredible. The volume and sound quality coming from this is simply amazing. I still chuckle when someone asks me to turn my guitar up and I do and all this sound comes from this little speaker sitting on the floor. There is a threaded mic stand socket on the bottom, but I place it on the floor and angle it back by putting my DI box underneath it. Between this and my GT-100 I have the ultimate direct guitar system, with inputs still available for a monitor feed from the main board. Simply fantastic piece of equipment.

great compact PA
I was surprised that I received the product one day after placing the order, the fastest ever. Its a great compact monitor. Loud enough for a large living room. I turn the volume to half or up to 2/3 maximum. Its very portable. I love the multiple inputs. Keyboard and guitar sounds great. Mic and mp3s sound great. Don't turn the volume to maximum as it will rattle but sound is decent at mid or 2/3. You'll be surprised how powerful it is for its size. You can also connect another monitor to make it stereo, but I'm pretty satisfied with just one. I just love it.

Excellent Sound for 30watt driven 6.5" dia speaker system
I'm into high end audio, but bought the Roland CM-30 cube to satisfy a need for a small, general purpose audio amp/speaker. In doing comparision tests the sound quality is very good, tight and well controlled. Obviously with only 30 watts you have to stay within its capabilities with material having high dynamic range requirements.. (The Roland E09 keyboard direct recorded auido demo tracks on youtube are neat test demos....) The high end speaker response is a bit bright, but easily correctly by backing off on the high equalizer to about 10AM position.. It obviously can't compete with a high end audio system running 20 times the power with appropriate level speakers, but as I say to my friends, it's in the neighborhood, and enjoyable listening. Great little amp/speaker monitor for the money! Highly recommend!

Great little amp/mini PA for quiet gigs
I play harp and sing in an acoustic blues trio. This amp is perfect for the small venues that we play. It would not be sufficient for a band with a drummer. It helps tremendously if you raise it up a few feet on something or put a wedge (a large doorstop works great) under it to angle it up. It puts out a surprising amount of bass for such a small driver. After hauling around a big bassman style amp when I played with electric bands, it's great to have a rig I can carry around with 2 fingers. When I play a gig where a PA is provided without monitors, I use this as a monitor and it does a fine job. It's built like a tank and can take lots of abuse. There are more inputs on it than I will ever use.

Loud and clear, built like a tank
I'm a gigging musician, and I bought this to use as a monitor for my keyboards so that I wouldn't have to lug around a much larger amp. I was concerned, though, because Roland's keyboard amps are notorious for their combination of low quality and high price, and I was also concerned that this might not be loud enough for use with a live band. I was wrong! This little booger is built like a tank, gets plenty loud, and sounds great! There's only one minor issue: too much low end at higher volumes will cause the speaker cone to rattle a little, but turning the bass knob down will solve that. When not overdriven, the sound is impressively clear. I also bought the ST-CMS1speaker stand , and I like the combo so much that I even use this with my iPod to play some tunes while I work outside. It's a lot of money to spend, but there's nothing disappointing about any of it.
