Excellent value for money!
Got this for a school science project, and it came exactly as in the product description and photo. We’d ordered two packages, and they came double sealed. What’s more, the individual packages have a resealable zip, so that makes storage within uses that much more convenient, safe and reliable. The particle size is not quite nanometer size, but then that too was mentioned clearly in the product description, and we knew that beforehand. So, no complaints there. Oh, and it was delivered earlier than promised! A pleasant surprise.

High quality, reliable seller.
Comes in a re-sealable bag as everything from this company does. I like ordering from these guys, they always deliver on time and their stuff always works. Used this to make some magnetic putty and it turned out great, swallowed those magnets like alien goo. Keep in mind if you will be using this for the same thing the putty doesn't keep. The humidity build up in the jar causes the metal powder to rust.

"Messy & Hard To Clean Up, But Still Magnetic"
I don't know if this is a good quality of black iron oxide because I have nothing to compare it to. But I do know this stuff is messy, and hard to clean up in which maybe all black iron oxide products are like that. I mean anything it touches it sticks to it, and when you try to brush it off it will smear all over the surface. And this situation is even worse if water is involved. But once you get beyond the messy factor you do have a product that is attracted to magnets, but yet I had a problem making magnetic putty since the puddy stretches so much, and the black iron oxide spills so much.

Very messy but does the job
Very messy but that cannot be helped, it’s just a characteristic of the product. Does its job.

Magnetic, Yes; Conductive, No
If you making magnetic this/that/the other, should work. If your making conductive paint, try graphite powder.

Makers Bonanza
Enough Fe3O4 to make hundreds of projects... ferro fluid, magnetic silly putty ( Toysmith Original Silly Putty Pack #104-48 12 PACK ), or even a clock ! Take care when using as this is used to dye items black and is such a fine grained powder that it will make its way into the pores of just about anything -- including your skin! Great value for science projects
Bought to make a Ferro-fluid jar and magnetic slime. Such fun projects! Just beware that if you're making ferro-fluid you will want to mix it in a container you don't need because you are essentially making printer ink and that stuff will stain like crazy.

Messy but good quality.
My daughter needed this for her school science project. The price was good. But be aware this stuff makes a mess. Not easy to get off skin or clothes. But other than that. It worked great. Was mailed fast.

I used it to make magnetic play doh
I wanted to make some magnetic play doh. I found an easy playdoh recipe on google using 2 cups of all purpose flour, 3/4 cup of salt 4 teaspoons of cream of tartar and 2 cups of lukewarm water. I added a cup of the iron oxide and cooked it in a pot stirring until it became playdoh. Then I took some strong magnets to make the playdoh move around. Kids loved it. The iron oxide is black so the playdoh came out black and makes your hands dirty which is a downside. On the bright side my kid keeps leaving food in his room so I sprinkled some black playdoh near the walls and told him it’s mouse droppings. He stopped eating in his room, but also stopped sleeping there.

A load of ferromagnetic fun
Black Iron Oxide or Fe3O4 can be a lot of fun to make magnetic compounds out of, from magnetic slime to ferrofluids and beyond (like Thermite), but the clean up is unreal. This is worth mentioning that these are nanoparticles in size so are basically as small as pollen and really should avoid inhaling it under any condition, it will go through a dust mask, so take care when handling it in its powder state. It also should go with a warning that this will stain basically everything it comes in contact with so be well prepared for a messy cleanup. The pictures attached are a basic ferromagnetic fluid that you can see how this powder reacts under a magnetic field when coated with a surfactant and suspended in different carrier fluids. Enjoy with care!

Great for our science experiments
Like everyone else here, we made magnetic slime. Worked perfectly. Speedy delivery
