What are the benefits of a braided ended leather leash? There are different types of leather leashes, (braided, sewn and rivet ends). The connecting ends will get a tremendous amount of stress from a large dog pulling over time. For a sewn end leather leash, the stitches can become weak over a period of time and could begin to unravel or break. For a riveted leather leash, the rivets could either rust, break or ripe through the hole punched into the leather. Braided end leashes do not have a single stitch and are double braided to securely hold the leash handle loop in place and securely connect to the end of the snap latch.
