This product is WONDERFUL !! My husband is very hard of hearing and always wanted the TV on so loudly it could be heard all over the house. Since getting these TV ears and hooking them up, he is now able to watch TV with it totally muted or if someone else is watching they can set the TV volume to meet their needs and it does not affect the volume for him through his headset. He states that if even helps him hear what is being said over other background noise in the movie, which before he could not always do in spite of turning up the volume. We both love the product. For him he is enjoying TV more because he can hear the speach more clearly and if others are in the room talking or other household noise is going on, (like the washer running, etc.) it does not make it harder for him to hear the TV. For me, I can keep my sanity because I am not one bit hard of hearing and the loud TV would almost give me a headache, and certainly put my nerves on edge. I don't have that problem anymore. The one drawback to the unit is when it is put back into it's cradle each evening for recharging for the next day, if the headset itself is not turned off, it does not charge and so is not usable the next day.

Don't buy this. I went over the order page before I purchased this and bought the least expensive because I'd had one years ago and it worked fine. Now when you receive and open the box (which has a different model # on it than what I purchased) it says this TV Ears will not work unless you already have or purchase a more expensive, by $100.00 or so TV Ears system. Nowhere on the purchase information when I bough it did it tell me anything like this. Amazon was great and I was able to return it with no problem but now I still have no way to hear my TV without raising the volume to high for other people.I feel that this product is a bad joke. They didn't send me the model number I ordered and the instructions in the box have a different model number also. If you don't mind wasting your time go for it.

This works great. I barely have to turn the volume and it’s plenty loud. The only drawback is you can’t turn your head to the side or turn your head around without the voices on TV disappearing followed by a static sound. If you just sit facing the TV, they are great! They are lightweight and easy to set up and to charge.

I got this for my 94 year old mother. Needless to say, at that age she has trouble hearing the tv and didn't want the volume up so far as to bother her neighbors (yes, she lives in her own apartment). I worried that she might not hear the telephone while she's using it. She says she can hear the phone. The only problem I can see is: with the TV Ears hooked up, no one else can hear the TV. There doesn't seem to be an easy way to connect/disconnect so company can watch with her. All in all, we totally recommend this product.

Over the years I’ve owned several sets of TV Ears. The original ones were analog and they were, for me, life changers . Very good bass/treble adjustment made it possible for me to understand dialogue on TV programs with background sound. Even better, I’m a night owl and the wife is not, so I could have TV with sound in the wee hours while she slept. And the original ones had fabulous range. On garbage night I could take the garbage out to the street wearing the TV Ears and not miss a word. These TV Ears are not those original ones.The original company sold TV Ears to a California company. They made Digital, not Analog sets that I hated. I wrote a horrible review. Now they’ve made an Analog set that they call “original”. It isn’t. It is better, a lot better. But it doesn’t have the range. With these new Analog Ears you can’t get much more than 10 feet from the TV. And you can’t turn your back to the TV. If you do you only hear static hash.These are better than their digital Ears. But they are a far cry from the real “originals”

I purchased this for my father in law. His hearing is not what it was. We tried a Bluetooth speaker. It worked but wasn’t easy for him to switch between audio from the TV speakers or the Bluetooth speaker. This unit connects to the TV audio ports and uses infrared to connect to the headset. It works great and the TV speakers work at the same time so my mother in law is happy!

My 92 year old mom saw an ad for this product in a magazine, so I looked it up on Amazon as Amazon is the best for getting products quickly, and if they don't work out, returning them. We got the unit for her TV which is on a stand, there is no table on which to put the unit. This was not mentioned in any of the advertising. It has to be 3 - 5 feet away from the person listening. Basically, you have to be sitting right in front of the TV. We followed the instructions and all we got was static. This is not a plug and play situation like the ad makes it sound like. The packaging was good and all the parts looked like good quality. That is the only reason why I gave it 2 stars
