I am 100% - no, scratch that - 200% satisfied with these cutters from Knipex. These are hands-down the ultimate cutters. I simply can't stress enough how effortless they are to use, how tough they are, and how high the quality is. They have extremely high leverage and seem to be immune to any type of damage on the cutting edges. Coat hangers, heavy gauge wire, small bolts, even nails... I haven't tried to push them to their limit, but I know without a doubt they would stand up to just about anything that will fit in the jaws. The capacity is rated at 3mm hardened piano wire. I have no doubt they would cut at their capacity without any damage or wear.I've been an industrial maintenance technician for 15+ years and have worked in many types of manufacturing and production type facilities. The challenges my tools face are steep. Every tool adds weight to my bag and must earn their place as highly valuable and a "must-have" tool. These Knipex cutters have a permanent spot in my bag.Some people might refer to these as "dikes". I have a coworker who has the Klein high-leverage cutters in his bag. The Klein is a fine tool, no doubt. If I wasn't aware of these Knipex cutters I would have bought the Klein. They are great tools and I have nothing bad to say about them whatsoever. BUT - If I had to choose between the two, the Knipex wins, hands down - no contest. These cutters have replaced all my old cutting pliers in my tool bag and are my main go-to for the toughest cutting jobs. The old cutters I have are simply unworthy of a place in my tool bag - they are like toys by comparison, and they now gather dust and rust in the junk drawer.

As an electrician, this is the samurai sword to the bushido of my craft. Incredibly well crafted Germapiano vanadium tool that has a completely different philosophy vs klein and their ilk. I have tried the others. This one destroys them all. It can be held comfortably with 2 fingers and a thumb, unlike other designs. "Where did you get that" "man this thing is sharp" "no way you can cut all of that" and "where can i get one?" Are frequently heard when i bring this out on job sites. The curved one is even more specialized for pulling nails and staples.

Pricey, but you get what you pay for. Feels great in the hand, slices through material like butter. A tool I'll use with pleasure for years and probably decades to come.

Not as sharp as some tool truck brands. The grips are average. Aesthetics are nice. Feels good in the hand. The best quality; they chomp anything reasonable, and they don't get dull.This is my second pair. The first pair are at work still going strong; never warrantied. The price on these in October 2023 is so affordable. $35 for mine.

Knipex pliers are the finest available. The price is about double what pliers cost that give you blood blisters on your palms. That, my friend, is a BARGAIN. Today I needed to grip a pin by its rivet head which was in a countersunk hole. I didn't think there was enough material for my Knipex pliers to grip the head but it got some purchase. Then I had to twist and pull. I got the rusty pin out in one attempt to my surprise. The diagonal cutters are very effective at cutting everything I have been clipping but I have not tried electric fence wire yet. This has nicked the jaws of lesser cutters so it will be interesting to see if these hold up.

Best side cutters. I'm an electrician, mainly residential, I have and still use Klein. My Kleins generally last about a six months to a year and the cutting edge (tape cut test) declines (still cuts tape but not as clean as new). The Knipex lost a very slight edge at around six months but have held the edge for almost 2 years now, it still cuts tape cleaner than my Kleins.As for bolt cutting, I have cut standard zinc bolts #6, #8, up to 1/4" (being cautious, I usually give harder stuff like the 1/4" and stainless a second bite). Steel wire, copper, aluminum, smaller diameter stainless. I even cut a notch out of a hex box lid. The long handles really allow you to consider misuse of the tool. These are pretty spendy so I haven't tried cutting hard carbon steel, like a grade 8 bolt, slotted channel or it's hardware.When I first saw these, I though "holy cow, they are sure proud of these to ask that much for them." I kept coming back thinking "you get what you pay for," and also realized there is a reason they can ask this price.Awesome, expensive, but awesome.

These are the best pinch type cutter I have ever owned. These cutters take abuse daily and perform. I found my first pair of these side cutters about 15 years ago while driving to work. I had driven over some red handles in lane and figured they might be Snap-on pliers or something. (these cutters are far superior to the Snap-on offering.) After I turned around and picked them off the road, I didn't recognize the brand, but I still brought them to work and placed them in my toolbox drawer, they had already lived a good hard life by then. Later that same day I was tasked with removing the rear axle from an old Chevrolet station wagon. I figured I would put these pliers to the test on the armored parking brake cables, no problem for these side cutters. I almost couldn't believe it, I tried the other cable, *schink* right through the steel armored wrap and steel cable. I've loved Knipex pliers ever since, Knipex are *top* quality hinged-tool-makers
