Perfect for what I needed
This power adapter kit worked out great for recording video for lengthy amounts of time. I didn't have to worry about the camera battery dying and having to switch it out and lose video from having to stop and restart. I just plugged in the camera to the Power Adapter, set the camera on a tripod and hit record and let it run.

Great for video production
Works as intended. No complaints. Perfect for long shoots if you donโt have a ton of batteries.

A Must Have for Long Shoots
This Power Adapter was a great purchase for my Canon. I just used it straight through a 10 hour long shoot and it worked really well. The one thing I did notice is that you must plug in the unit to power prior to putting it in your camera or the camera will not recognize it. The first time I used it I put it in my camera and then plugged it in to power and the camera would not turn on. So, I took off 1 star since you would have to take the battery out and put it back in if you change outlets. You can turn the camera off and on at any time without any trouble as long as you have stayed connected. Other than that, it has worked great and has saved me a lot of time during several long shoots where I have access to ac power. I would really like if someone made one that actually had a rechargeable battery as part of the unit so you would have the option to unplug and move locations while still running the camera and then plug back in when available. The power cord seems sturdy enough. The cord from the adapter to the camera is on the thin side but I don't see any problems with it lasting.

AC Cord Missing
This item shipped with no AC power cord as was listed and pictured. With no power cord, there's not much you can do with this. Item returned. Ordered replacement and have fingers crossed.Update: Replacement received. All is well. I don't understand all the negative reviews on construction and design. I haven't fitted it to the camera yet, but it seems reasonably done. I was worried from the photo that the power pin would likely pull out, but the pin hooks neatly into the "dummy" power block in such a way that it won't pull out.For now I'm raising my rating to 4 stars, (-1 for not shipping the AC cord the first time). I'll adjust the stars if actual use turns out to be problematic, but I don't expect it to be.

Works great for me and a lot cheaper!
Reading through some of the other reviews, it seems like if you get one of these, you have the initial chance that it completely doesn't work and if it does, it works great. I guess I got lucky because I've had mine for a couple years now and it's worked great. I've used it several times to record video and never had a single issue *knocks on wood*. I think they changed the design also as mine doesn't quick look like the picture. The box is more rounded and smaller and feels a little more solid than (what I'm guessing is) the older version some have described. The battery box fits great into my Canon Rebel T3i and like I said, no issues. It definitely saved me lots of money instead of buying the official Canon one!

Did not work out of the box.
-Opened it and plugged it in.-My Canon T3i never turned on.-Tried multiple electrical outlets and it still never turned on.-I think I will return it and order one more for another go at it because frankly, $80 for the Canon version is a bit ridiculous (and out of stock too).-Hopefully 2nd time around will get a higher rating.-Well, I never sent it back because I tried it again, and it worked.-But when I tried it later, it didn't until I unplugged everything and plugged it all back in.-Final Review: It is spotty. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Definitely something I would NOT want to rely on if I was shooting (Photo or video) and NEEDED it to work.

Perfect for the price
I've just received this item. I'll be using it on EOS 600D for studio shooting. The product seems to be fragile, but works fine. The plastic and cables used for building the power adapter are really thin and seams fragile, but thats ok for the price. Beside this, it works fine and power the DSLR just fine. If I can, I'll post some more info after a long period of usage to see if it get very hot. I recommend buying.

Works on my Canon T3i
There have been some reviews that this product is poor quality. All of my power adapter's connections are tight, and the product works just fine. I plugged it into my Canon T3i and have had no problems. The "fake" battery goes in just like a real battery and fits great. Keep in mind that you can pay a lot more for this adapter. This adapter works just fine.If you're wondering how the adapter works, you plug one end of the cord into the fake battery pack and push it into your Canon camera. On my camera there's a little rubber "door" for the wire to come out of when the battery compartment is shut. From there you run the cord to the adapter and then to the wall outlet.
