These inexpensive little toothbrushes are just as good at cleaning teeth as the expensive plastic ones and less wasteful of expensive petrolium products. The bristles do drop out a bit, but I have never swallowed one. The colours are fun and at this price, you can just throw it away when it gets a bit iffy without agonising about waste or cost. These show, I think, that "cheap 'n' cheerful" is not always less effective.

My wife can’t use an electric toothbrush and likes these a lot.The bristles are reasonably durable but not too course as to hurt when brushing.She likes that they are bamboo and sustainably sourced.
