aMagic MagCable - Micro USB Magnetic Charging Cable for Micro USB Smart Phone Included 1 Cable & 2 Tips (1 Meter Cable Long)

This was my first magnetic charger and I'm really happy with it. The little adapter fits snug in my Nvidia Shield tablet and doesn't even try to fall out. The magnet is not strong enough to charge while you use the device, but I don't think it's designed to. Gone are the days of fussing with the traditional micro USB cables. I don't even have to touch the cable to get it in place - I just hold my tablet to the charger and it snaps right into place; Every time I've tried!Charging speed is great. Wish they were a bit less expensive as between my wife and I we need quite a bit more of these.

I own a pair of these cables. I didn't buy them from Amazon, so this won't a verified purchase; I got them from the original Kickstarter: [...] I would recommend skimming the 1500+ comments there before buying these.I was one of the lucky ones in that I did at least get what I ordered. Others have been waiting 14 months and haven't received theirs yet. (This is likely not going to be a problem with this seller. Amazon wouldn't stand for that, I suspect. I assume they have product in hand.)One cable worked for a few weeks and died. The other lasted close to year and now, only slow charges my phone. I am not using either one at this time. Neither cable ever worked as a data cable. I only wanted them for their fast charging and quick magnetic attachment, so I really never cared that much about that aspect. I would like to find out if maybe I just got hit by getting early production models and maybe these have gotten better. Perhaps we will find out.

I purchased four of these from the Kickstarter offering so this will not show up as a verified purchase. The magcable delivery was delayed, but I did get mine. However it would not fit into my Samsumg S7 phone. I used one of them on a tablet, and I after a few times, noticed the button on the silver part on the wire had melted - see the pictures. I emailed aMagic via their Kickstarter messages about both these problems, once in July 2016 and again in Feb 2017, but did not get any response. Given the melting experience, I won't use the other three. I also realized is that if you want to keep the magnetic part in your device, you need a magcable everywhere you want to charge it.

I really like this product. My only complaint is that I now need a few more cables and the plug that goes into the micro usb port. I've primarily used this on a Samsung Galaxy Note 5. The Note 5 has fast charging capabilities and this magnetic charger supports quick charging. There is a white LED light on both sides of the cable end that indicate fast charging or normal charging. The cable is also fully capable of data transfers. The cable is thick and tangle free. I would definitely buy another one. The magnet could stand to be a bit stronger as it sometimes comes off due to a slight tug on the cable.

Well, for the past several months this set up has been ok. Of the 3 I purchased: one plug on the device side (the smaller piece that fits into the phone / tablet etc) broke. Not surprising because it was switched several times and it is a very secure fit. I use one in my phone and held on to the other for a spare. It provided sufficient power to quickly charge my phone.What prompted me to write this review is what happened a few minutes ago. I'm laying in bed with my phone charging as I do most nights. Not under a pillow or anything; on the shelf next to my bed. I started to smell the unmistakable odor of overheated electronics. Next small trail of smoke slipped by and I began to search for the source. My phone was not even slightly warm as usual. I looked at the power cord for my phone and the switch for normal/quick charging was smolder! Whisps of smoke drifting from the switch as I grabbed it. The small 2 position switch box was too hot to touch. The plastic switch is completely melted. Fortunately the phone and charger are fine. The foul scent of fried electric components is still heavy. I fear what the outcome could have been if I had been sleeping.

Quit working after only a few days. Light quit working and it won't switch between quick charge and data transfer. SAD! I had to make an a to z claim after returning this defective item because the seller only credited me for the cost of the item and not the shipping costs. Big hassle for junk from China! Save your money and time! VERY SAD!

Not good, it came apart after a few days of use! Also the magnet it's not as strong as other brand that I had before!
