Uncle Mike'sSmall Pistol Rug

I bought the Blackhawk Sportster Pistol Rug, and the Uncle Mike's Pistol Rug (small and medium). Build quality of all three was equal and very good.Even though the outside dimensions are the same, the Blackhawk medium is larger inside than Mike's Pistol medium. I think Mike's has a bit more padding, which eats up the space. That being said, both were plenty large for all three of my guns (Glock 17, Sig Sauer Mosquito, SCCY CPX-2). I uploaded photos to all three products with all three gun choices so you can compare for yourself.I think they're of fine quality, but a little thicker than I expected. I had thought I was getting thin neoprene sleeves, similar to a notebook case. These are more substantial than that, but it's fine because it will definitely protect the pistols better and they're all small enough to fit in my range bag.As you can see from the photos, the small is significantly smaller than the medium. I feel like my SCCY CPX-2 disappears in the medium, but I can't quite get the pistol rug to zip close with the SCCY in there, even with the magazine removed. Still, with a tiny bit of the grip sticking out, it serves its function so I'll keep it for now.

This rug is nice. Well padded, nicely finished, sturdy zipper.It fits my S&W Airweight model 637 (J-Frame) very tightly. I have to angle it just so to make it work. I am a little concerned about the gun rubbing against the zipper. Probably an excess of caution on my part, maybe not. I think I will order a medium for this gun.My S&W Bodyguard 380 fits the small size more to my liking, with just a little space to breathe.Is it this inexpensive because it is made in China? Uncle Ming's perhaps? There can't be more than a few minutes labor in one of these, probably less than a minute. I would gladly pay that tiny bit more to employ an American. I subtract one star for that.

These are a great value and provide adequate protection. However, this is a very small bag. I got it for my Ruger LC9S ( not a large pistol by any means) and it barely fits. No room for an additional magazine and I have to manipulate the zipper over the rear sight. I'll probably donate it to the SPCA and get the medium. I think it would work better for a very small revolver or perhaps the micro version of the kimbers.

The quality and padding are great. I decided to purchase this item without regard to the size concerns of others because someone said that it fit their Makarov... Just for the record, I have an actual Makarov, a Bulgarian Makarov PM to be specific, and this rug is too small. I think I will keep it to use with another pistol and order a larger size for Mak. So, just to be clear DO NOT BUY THE SMALL SIZE FOR USE WITH A MAKAROV. It definitely will not fit.

The product itself gets 5 stars--it does just what it should at a good price. What gets only 3 stars is the product photo, which I believe shows all 3 sizes of this product, and not to scale! The photo showing an actual pistol in the case is the Medium size. The Small size is about to scale to that photo, but if the final case shown in the photo is Large then that part of the picture has been scaled down. Know that the Small case is very, very small--I got this for a PPK replica BB pistol, which is pretty darn compact, and it would not fit. The vendor was quick to send a Medium replacement, and that one is a good product for the price.

I don't know who's "fault" this is but the small will not fit my Bersa Thunder or my plinker, Taurus 22 9 shot revolver. Might fit a M&P, returned and went up a size. Yes, worth the repurchase but be careful, can't close or zipper and forget about clips! Go big or go home!Sorry about the pic's not loading right...thanks Amazon.

Very small but great quality.Just barely fits a compact Phoenix Arms HP22 with standard magazine and with the extended mag just a half inch longer the rug will not close. It is of exceptional quality, the very thick padding is protective and the zippers seem to be strong and smooth operating. It is just way too small, I imagine not many guns will fit in this rug comfortably so if you are unsure, get the medium.

Excellent pistol case for small handguns. I use these to transport my handguns to the range inside a backpack. These offer extreme protection with a lot of padding inside. The zipper is good quality, the inside is nice and soft, and the outside is nice and tough. The small fits my Sig 938 with a 6 or 7 round magazine but I don’t think you could fit anything bigger. This is pocket pistol type size. If you have doubts, get the medium.
