I need to replace the rubber gasket inside the top of the gamma seal any ideas as to where I can buy that gasket

To my knowledge the seals can't be purchased separately. You have to buy a new lid.

can the Gamma Seal Lid be removed if the bucket is no longer good ? (has a hole on the bottom)

There are numerous youtube videos on the removal of a Gamma Seal rings. In our experience, the removal of a Gamma Seal ring can vary from not-very-easy to not-at-all. The ring tends to be distorted in the process and is not quite the same on re-use. Your experience may vary.
