Starshine BPL628 TL Electric Guitar Solid Body Roasted Maple Neck and Fingerboard for Beginner, Intermediate (with Amp, Gig Bag, String, Pick, Cable and Wrench)-Bourbon burst

This tele style guitar has many high end features that you would normally only find on a more premium guitar. The neck is a roasted hard maple that has a fat retro profile. The fretwork is fine on mine out of the box, not the best I've ever felt but certainly very good. The action out of the box is nice and low and only needed slight saddle adjustment on a couple strings. The fretboard is nearly flat with very minimal curve radius. The paint finish on the body is decent, not a ton of grain to see but overall looks clean. I’m also a fan of the trough body sting slots! The hardware on the instrument is decent. The control plate and control knobs feel high quality! The generic machine heads seem decent but I may upgrade them down the line. The nut is cheap and could definitely be upgraded but again works fine.The neck needed some love, as it came without any finish on it and grain feeling a bit rough on my palm. To remedy this I decided to give her a light sanding with 420 followed by 520 grit sand paper. I then applied two coats of Danish Oil to the headstock, neck and fretboard to seal and protect the wood. The resulting finish is fantastic and now feels excellent in my hand. I highly recommend this guitar to anyone looking for a solid tele style instrument, from beginners on up to professionals.

This was a bargain! this is a really good set for someone just starting out learning guitar. My friend who plays guitar and is knowledgeable is helping me learn the chords and told me that this will "do" for now, as in its a good starter, but eventually I should upgrade. He also mentioned that the amp is impressive for being included in the kit.

The down sides: Strings are badly rusted on arrival, left rust on the fingers. And about that "roasted maple neck" - it must lightly roasted, perhaps by the sun. But I like it! And I definitely will replace the tuners with locking RATIO machine heads. And as traditional, the action is set for the studio musician (i.e. too high). The amp is about the worst box of buzzsaw I ever heard and best recycled. But at this price, who cares?The upsides: No fret spout - none! It pass the McKnight sock test 5 of 5! No dead spots, no buzzes. Pickup all work and the tone is not bad but I can see a pickup upgrade in my future but still playable with some new strings. The bridge is the Gotoh style with 12-string intonation adjust - not 6x2 as usual but I will leave that for my deft technician. Gotoh themselves make a replacement bridge for and that may a good upgrade. But any new guitar deserved a custom professional setup. I ask my tech to estimate changing and cutting a new nut but he talked me out of it - he confirmed, this is a real bone nut and perfectly fine.Starshine said they made over half of all guitars made in 2022. At these prices, I believe it. Weird thing, they do not offer them in China. But I so glad to have this. I would suggest that ANY 12 strings is not a beginning guitar and do not expect it unbox it and play a gig with it. But I little love and upgrading, you have a fine instrument!

This guitar can't be beat for the price. Right out of the box, it feels like solid construction with an unexpected weight to it at this price point. The gig bag is a nice feature, and the included amp is surprisingly good for, again, the price. Perfect for practicing.The only issue I found so far was that one of the strings broke during tuning without too much tension, but I'm still going with 5 stars because it's easily replaced.This is just an incredible value and one that shouldn't be missed for the beginner/intermediate player in your life.

The media could not be loaded.  This is a great beginner set. It's 12 string. Came with a bag for guitar and a small amp/speaker. That little speaker with guitar is cool in its own aspect. Has a kickstand on back so you can tilt it back for a more directional sound. Product is durable and the value was great. My nephew is going to teaching me how to play. Highly recommend.

Was sent WRONG color. ordered blue was sent red. not a big deal, still plays and sounds amazing. a couple of tuners are a bit wonky... not a huge deal,just replace them and you're good.

I got this not to long ago, as a person who plays a guitar this one is pretty good for what it is, of course it can't compare to the really expensive ones. But for what it's price at its defiantly worth a shot. I give 4 🌟
