Montem Trekking Pole Extra-Durable Tip Protectors/Hiking Pole Extra-Durable Replacement Tips - Fits All Standard Hiking/Trekking/Walking Poles - Pack of 2

Talk about durability and great value: after 4 yrs and dozens of hikes covering over 200 miles of trails (most of which were gravel/rock) I finally had to replace my first pair of these replacement tips. I also love the greater width of the heads - they provide greater traction and stability for my 61 yr old legs.

I love them. They work great. I use them on my BungyPump Walkathlon fitness poles and my husband uses them on his Montem Trekking poles. I wore the tips off my fitness poles quickly and replaced them with this tip and it works great on my poles and is holding up better than the original tips. I use my poles for both fitness walking and for hiking in the mountains. I prefer to have the tip for both asphalt walking (exercising) and for the stability of walking on uneven ground and rocks and up and down hills due to bad knees. I feel I can move quicker and more independently with both the poles and this tip on it. I have moved most of my walking/hiking to wooded trails with rocks and gravel, so not sure if the asphalt would wear these down like my previous tips.

They seem to work well. Haven't tried on the snow.

I use these tips on my Montem hiking poles most of the year and only take them off when I will be on ice or snow. I did not want to dull the sharp tips on dirt and rock. I am still on my first pair of tip protectors and am ordering another set now to have on hand when these wear out, whenever that will be. These large tip protectors are holding up much better than the usual tip protectors that come with many hiking poles. I wore through several sets of those in a couple of seasons before I got the Montem poles which came with these tip protectors. They are wearing amazingly well. The rounded ends will slide a little easier on some types of terrain, but I find it minimal and not a problem.

Bought these as upgrade to the standard tips that come with Montem poles. I felt these tips would be more durable than the standard tips. Since the bottom of these tips is curved it allows you to roll up and off of a surface much like the way running shoes are constructed. My wife and I walk multi-surface trails and I find these work best on hard or paved surfaces. Because of the rounded bottoms they will slip slightly on gravel/stone surfaces especially when descending a steep grade. I would not consider this as dangerous or unsafe and would highly recommend them. It would be nice if they came as the standard tips with all Montem poles.

These were a perfect fit on my Montem poles and would probably work the same for just about any good walking poles. I cannot speak for durability, but so far for use on asphalt they work well. Some trail hiking is coming up soon so I'll get to put them to the test on rock and gravel. I like that the tip are much larger than the tips that came with the poles as these will not get stuck in small cracks and pop off as one of the original ones did.

I'm 84yo and need help keeping my balance. Most walking sticks only have a hard rubber tip to use for this purpose. I replaced the usual tips with the Motem tip and have been very satisfied. They reduce any slippage on polished, wood floors, or other slick surfaces. I recommend you replace the tips of your usual walking sticks with these tips.

These trekking pole tips are quite durable for someone who uses them frequently. I recommend them.
