Camio Box

UPDATE Dec 2017: I still have it, running on about 8 months total. Still strongly recommend this box for those with IP cameras that need an ease of use boost.I've been using this for about 2 months now, but think I have enough of a grasp to leave a review.I have several IP cameras that I have running into an NVR, and am able to view live stream on. This was not some cheap IP camera setup purchased from a random supplier - it comes from a reputable company that has their own app. Unfortunately the app's biggest weakness is the ease in which you can view historical events. Yes, you can do it, but it is such a pain in the butt that I hope I never have to.I plugged the Camio box in, and setup was relatively painless. The team was able to help me tweak the settings and get it running very promptly. Please make sure you are aware that the true value of the Camio box comes from the subscription price (which you should look at the description of the product to see the current cost). Be prepared that to get the full value there will be this added monthly cost. Having Camio enables me to look at historical events with ease, incredible ease. It also enables you to define zones on the cameras that you can further use to sort through activity. (For example, the camera facing my front yard, I can draw different areas and name them, and then can search for activity in those areas using that name). Searching for historical video is also painless due to the good web & app interface. Camio has the ability to send a recap email each day giving you some brief GIFs of events. It determines what events to show by you providing a rating on each clip to say whether the action that occurred is important or not. I have not tested this a ton, but when I receive the recap it is events that I would expect to receive based on my feedback.Camio offers the ability to search by terms as well. e.g. car, person, etc. I think it is fairly accurate. To be fair, I haven't really had to use this feature, because that's not fully why I have the Camio. The main benefit of the Camio for me is that it makes searching historical events so easy compared to my camera manufacturer's app.I did run into a hiccup with the unit, but the team was super responsive. They did some troubleshooting, sent me a new unit (and I sent the old back), and they let me know what the issue was, which was appreciated. With a lot of products you wonder how committed people are when issues actually arise, and this shows that they are committed.The box is nothing special when looking at it, but the functionality it provides for an average user like myself is huge. I would strongly recommend checking it out.

Product was shipped and delivered quickly. Set up is quite easy. Now we have 24/7 video.

I use Camio for 2 cameras on my 8-channel FLIR DNR200 DVR and absolutely love its daily automatic highlights that are emailed to me each evening.The thing I like most is that Camio analyzes the video for me so it's no work for me to see the important stuff quickly from my iPhone.When we had a burglary on our street, I found the video of the suspect's vehicle just by typing in "gray car 12pm to 4pm" and then shared the link with my local police department.Camio is a must have for your home video surveillance system. It makes searching your videos for relevant content easy, and makes sharing your video with who you want, very simple.

This product worked really well for areas that do not get strong wifi reception. One of our wifi cameras has always been functioning properly, but the other had very spotty wifi coverage. So we switched the spotty one to use an Ethernet cable with Internet over our electrical wiring using a Netgear Powerline adapter. Camio Box was able to find our cameras wherever they were on our network, so the switch from WiFi to Ethernet was no problem. Very reliable now.

Camio Box was able to connect to my Axis M3024-LVE and Sharx SCNC3905 cameras without any problems. All footage from these cameras is consolidated through my Camio account, so everything's in one place regardless of whether I view from my phone, laptop, or desktop. The important-event detection puts the footage in front of me so I don't have to dig through hours of footage to know what happened that day. Great little product to enhance the Camio experience.

Just make sure your network connection is goodOne of our cameras has a weak wireless signal, so the video frame rate drops/stutters as in this coyote crossing [...]. Overall, it's great - but just make sure your camera location has a good signal or is wired with Ethernet.
