Q: how many vibration setting are there?

There is only one level for the vibration. 100 levels for the "shock", which is actually muscle stimulation VS an actual shock. My German Shepherd under normal "at ho.e" conditions responds well to level 12 to 14. At our campground or new places or around other dogs I Amp it up due to her adrenaline. And to be 100 % honest I've been shocked by my car worse than a level 14 on a "shock" collar. And yes, I've the collar myself on my hand to see what my dog would feel.

yes, you just have to program the receiver to detect it

No. I couldn’t get a response from anyone about this thing. It’s useless however I couldn’t ever get mine to shock and I’ve returned one already, about to return the 2nd too.
