Here are a few things you should know:
The GRAVGRIP is a well made product that uses quality materials and construction. That said, it feels overpriced for what it is. Here are a couple things I wish I knew before I bought it.1. The term "hydraulic" used in the description suggests that the motion of the GRAVGRIP is somehow damped. It is not. The GoPro flops around on it, thereby requiring careful technique to achieve a smooth shot. It may be that adding counterweights would help with this. Unfortunately, GRAVGRIP has decided not to include counterweights with the product—but they will sell them to you separately for even more money. (And by "even more", I mean 50% of the cost of the GRAVGRIP itself.)2. Mounting your GoPro upside down renders the GoPro unable to record GPS data. If you want GPS data, maybe for telemetry overlay or just to be able to reference location data, you'll need to record it on a separate device. It would have been possible for GRAVGRIP to design this product with the GoPro facing up. Camera gimbals are all designed this way. Perhaps they will consider this for a V3 of this product.3. The GRAVGRIP needs to be mounted on a straight, relatively stiff pole. It will not work with a GoPro 3-Way V2, for example, because GoPro designed it with a permanent buckle mount receiver on the end of it that gets in the way.Bottom line: If the GRAVGRIP was easier to use, it would get a higher rating. It can be a useful product for anyone making a film and needing a jib-like shot. But for casual vlogging, for example, I wouldn't recommend it.

Works as stated and designed.
Best extension GoPro holder I have used. Auto leveling is very good when you set the camera up properly. Lightweight and well made and the locking mechanism is straightforward and effective. I use with a GoPro remote attached to handle and it is perfect for my style of shooting.

I don't think the understand the meaning of "Hydraulic"
The media could not be loaded. Literally no hydraulics on this. Otherwise works as advertised, though could perform a bit better. Not quite as smooth as they say it is. Video shows one setting but I tried multiple and this is about as smooth as I could get it. Also only swings on one axis. (Not that they say it doesn't, so that's okay)Not bad to add to my collection of gear now that I have it, but not worth the price. Feels kinda cheaply made too. If it were half the current price then it'd be worth it. Not unsatisfied, but not completely satisfied either.

Disappointing Hydraulic Camera Grip - Stability Issues and Design Flaws
I recently purchased this hydraulic camera grip, expecting it to enhance my filming experience, but it has been nothing short of a disappointment. From the very first use, I encountered several critical issues that render this product almost useless for serious videography.First, as you can see from the photos, if you have the media mod attached to the camera, the side of the mod touches the side of the grip. This contact disrupts the entire stabilization mechanism, making it necessary to manually rotate the camera out of contact, which defeats the purpose of having a stabilization device in the first place. The very function of a gimbal is to provide smooth, stable footage without manual intervention, and this grip fails miserably in that regard. Moreover, when you attempt to rotate the grip 360° for dynamic shots, you will notice an unacceptable design flaw. The monopod, along with all the connected screws, becomes visible in the shot. This visibility is a glaring oversight and severely limits the angles and creativity you can achieve with this grip. Instead of capturing seamless footage, you're constantly reminded of the grip's presence, which is both distracting and unprofessional.Additionally, the grip's poor design has the potential to cause damage to your equipment. The constant contact between the grip and the media mod could result in scratches on the mod's casing over time. This is concerning, as it not only affects the aesthetic appeal of your gear but could potentially reduce its resale value.Lastly, the stability of this grip deteriorates rapidly with use. After moving the camera multiple times, the balance is thrown off after just five rotations. This instability is frustrating, especially during longer shoots where you need consistent performance. The entire contraption becomes useless, requiring frequent adjustments and recalibrations that interrupt the flow of filming.Overall, this hydraulic camera grip fails to deliver on its promises of stability and seamless operation. The design flaws, performance issues, and potential for damage to your equipment make it a poor choice for anyone looking for a reliable gimbal for their camera.I would not recommend this product to anyone serious about their videography. Save your money and invest in a more dependable option.

Great for Kayaking!
The media could not be loaded. Exactly what I was looking for! I bought this for documenting our kayaking adventures and took it on a test run this morning. There was a wind advisory, and because it is Sunday there was plenty of boats to create turbulence. The video shows how none of those factors affected the stability of the video. Super impressed!!
