I'm not really a coffee snob, but I do like to make sure I use good equipment and quality beans for everything I do. I mostly drink French Press and grind my own beans coarsely using a conical burr grinder. Cold brew is now a mainstream thing and I was curious to try it. A local coffee shop brews it and it was quite good, so I figured why not try to brew it myself?I decided on this brand based on the construction of the "coffee system" and the overall design. It looks really good in person. I saw other brands for well over $80, but figured I would start out small. I'm glad I did. Using a French Press grind, I loaded this up with their recommended 10-12 tbsp of grounds and filled it up to the 32 oz. mark. After just under 24 hours, I have to say, it is very good. I think 11 tbsp of grounds is ideal for me.. 10 tbsp seemed a bit on the weak side, but it was very smooth and delicious. Very happy with my purchase!

This product makes a pretty good batch of cold brew. Please note that it only makes 32 ounces at a time and it takes 12-24 hours per brew. I guess I didn't realize this when I purchased it. Essentially it's like one large cup of coffee for my husband and I and then none again until tomorrow. I do like the streamline, slim design of the container, its sleek and modern looking, I don't care too much that it has a gasket that needs to be removed and replaced on the top lid. After brewing the coffee you remove the filter and then you need to put the gasket back on the lid in order for it to seal properly for storage in the fridge. I'm always misplacing that little sucker. Either way, for $20 something dollars it does its job and it's a fine buy.

Let me start by saying the customer service was amazing. I received two broken carafe's from amazon. When I reached out to Zen Brews to let them know my situation they were quick to correct the problem for me. The person at Zen Brew personally packaged one from their warehouse and sent it out that day. When I received the third one, the product was not broken and had a hand written note saying sorry and they hope I enjoy their cold brew system. I am very happy with this cold brewer. The process is easy and the end result tastes great. I would recommend this company and product to anyone.

I was hoping to replace my double-shot expresso can habit with the Zen coffee system. It is very nice looking and easy to use.Unfortunately, no matter how coarse I ground my beans there were always grounds escaping through the fine mesh filter. I also noticed that it took a lot of coffee scoops to achieve the strength that I enjoy.

Very attractive & sturdy. Gets low stars because cold brew coffee grounds I bought with it at Amazon's suggestion allowed a ton of grounds through basket, settling onto bottom of carafe making product useless without further straining. Will try another kind of coffee grounds and adjust star rating accordingly if warranted.

To be honest, I bought this for the look. I like that it doesn't have a handle and I like how sleek it is compared to other cold brew kits. When we got it, I noticed the glass seemed a little thin and fragile, but no reviews mentioned a problem with that, so I thought it would be fine. I opened my fridge after a few uses (never with heat) and found a pool of coffee in my refrigerator door bin. It looked like we had set it down a little too hard and cracked the bottom of the glass, although I can't imagine how hard we had to have done that in order for it to crack. We are not rough people. tl;dr: Glass was too thin. Cracked after we set it down a little firmer than normal.

The Zen Brews system is amazing and so easy to use and It makes great cold brewWhat I like about making cold brew at home is I can use ground decaf beans . Most coffee houses do not offer decaf cold brew

Works great and looks beautiful too! I was using a French press previously to make my cold brew and it was really messy getting the grounds out. The Zen Brews has a nice stainless steel filter that you just dump the grounds out and rinse! And the coffee is delicious !
