Love these! I keep them right in my freezer as I'm prone to migraines since living with a Traumatic Brain Injury for almost 17 years.

Ok so they do get cold and freeze like a brick..... which doesnt help conform to a human body at all. I've had other gel pak types that get frozen but still conform to the shape you need them to be, ie. Your forehead. This is like laying a 2x4 board on your head

The quality of the bag is very good and I have some older bags just like this one that have lasted for years. The only problem with the ones I got on this order is that the liquid/gel inside these bags freezes up solid and never really turns into a cold gel. It's just a solid brick. After a while, when it starts to de-thaw, it will get a little crunchy, but if your using this on anything that is bruised, it will hurt to use these gel packs. My guess is that they had a bad batch that does not have enough of whatever chemical is needed to keep the water from freezing solid. I'm giving this two stars because the bag is the best of all the gel packs I've purchased, but really, this deserves one star because it is almost unusable and really does not deliver on what it was designed for.

These have a quality nylon material and the edges have a nice half inch seal all the way around to prevent leaks. They heat nicely in the microwave, just make sure to not let them balloon too much in the microwave. The material is a durable nylon and much better than the plastic covered ones at the drugstore. As others noted they will freeze flat but after a few minutes they become more flexible

I used these after breast surgery. They fit perfectly into the pocket of the pillow I purchased and nice that they came as a pack so you had a spare when the other was no longer frozen. I have not used it yet for hot so I can't speak to that aspect of the pack.
