Kdfc-A Classical Christmas 2 / Various

I enjoy KDFC's annual Holiday Spirit program a lot, so I bought KDFC's "Classical Christmas" 1, 2 and 3. This CD (volume 2) is not bad, but it would be my least favorite of the three.If classical Christmas music has a downside, it's that a few songs can have an annoying feeling, which I don't know how to describe except as "prissy". Each CD in the series has many songs that I like, along with one or two that make me roll my eyes. Except on this CD, it's more like four or five songs where I'm eye-rolling; so this CD is the one I play least.People's tastes differ. For one quick example, consider the song "All Through the Night". Some people love it. I don't. I find it both mechanical and saccharin, both clunky and sickly-sweet. If you feel as I do, you might not like this CD - because it's on here. Buy one of the others. Volume 3 is my favorite.

This CD has beautiful classical Christmas music with a mixture of instrumentalists and vocals and various instruments. It is the best of the best. I tire of the same music played over and over on the radio during December so I purchase CDs only when they are unique music. Every piece on this CD is truly stunning. I am listening to it for the first time right now and it is the music of angels. I cannot recommend this CD highly enough. Wish I had the option of 10 stars.
