Impressed with Results (After Changing the Collar)
I was so happy to find a bark collar that didn't shock. And it works! Rarely does my dog even get to the vibrating feature in the sequence. My dog used to bark incessantly when my roommates would get home. Although it was an excited bark, it got quite annoying. One bark and he sulks and hides behind them for a second, then is fine and doesn't bark. Now he won't bark at them at all when they arrive home, even when he's not wearing the collar, which is just amazing! He still gets out bark or two when someone comes to the door, but now he won't sit there and continue to bark until he figures out the situation. I have a small gripe/suggestion about the construction of the collar (obviously not enough to take off any stars because my dog is kind of outside of the parameters of this collar). I did read the sizing of the collar and knew I might have to create another hole to get it to fit my miniature Schnauzer-Yorkie mix that weighs about 12 pounds. But when the collar arrived, the hardware (buckle, other metal parts) on the collar itself was heavier than the device. And definitely too heavy and bulky with the extra slack on the collar to put around my dog's neck. I emailed with the company about removing the device and putting it on my own collar. I wanted to make sure it wouldn't compromise the device if removed it. They were very responsive and said that it would be fine. I couldn't tell if the collar went straight through the device or if it was severed and somehow glued to each side. Once I got the device open, the collar is in fact severed and attached to two little posts on both sides of the device. Tearing the collar off was a treat, and because of the posts, it was pretty tricky to get my collar to fit and put the device back together. It was just thin enough that I was able to close the device around the collar (although it's not completely flush like it was originally). The device still works absolutely fine and is more catered to my small pup. My suggestion is possibly constructing a device without a collar. I'm sure that might be hard to ensure the collar a person uses is thick enough that the device wouldn't slide around on it, or maybe have some sort of prong in the device that you can poke through the collar to keep it stationary. Just food for thought to maybe cater to a wider variety of dogs. But overall, I'm really impressed with how well this collar works (as are my roommates, friends, family, etc).

All bark and no bite.
Update:I've had this product for many months now and I will have to say that I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT.The battery is requires is a "28L" size battery... which is only sold in certain stores like walgreens... Thats not even the worst part. The battery costs about $16 minimum... which is about 90% of the cost of the product... If your dog barks a lot like mine, youll need to buy a new battery weekly... in one month youll spend close to $75 just in batteries. One another note it just doesn't work. I will hear the collar make a beeping sound and my dog will just ignore it... there is no on and off switch you have to constantly take the battery out and in... If you forget one day then the battery drains....The collar is way to long (I know its to accommodate every size dog but its just really bad.).My neighbors came over to my house and complained that my dog barked too much at night. I looked up many solutions and thought that this would be the answer. It works sometimes and other times it doesn't. I'm not sure if it is because my dog has longer hair (border collie) or if its because the product is low on battery or because its not positioned correctly. I think the page or instructions mentions something about shaving your dogs hair for the collar to work properly...This product would be a lot better it is wasn't so clunky and the collar wasn't as long. I understand that the collar is meant for a "one size fits all" scenario but it's so long that it fits on the 3rd to the last hole (about 7" excess). I have a Border Collie and it will always grab the excess collar and pull on it. I try to "slip" the collar under itself but it keeps popping out.It came with these caps that are not mentioned in the instructions at all.The battery life on this is horrible not to mention the battery it uses are "N" type batteries (1.5 volts Alkaline). Not the most common batteries around. There is no off/ on switch so they recommend you take the battery out after use and back in when you want to use it. I probably got a good week to two weeks or use out of this before the two batteries included died completely.Did it work though? Yes and no. My dog sometimes barked at night and sometimes didn't. But, after not using the collar she hasnt barked much at all so i think those nights of not barking were due to her just not barking. There is no guarantee that this product will work. There are lots of reviews with the results split in half.I wouldnt recommend it. Just get your dog some obedience classes. Thats what i did. works perfectly.

The only thing you should by for a vibration bark control collar!!
I am a dog trainer/behavior specialist and I also own a dog day school. Our school is in a residential area so needless to say we cannot have excessive barking. We utilize the Gentle Spray citronella bark collar with some success but needed another minimally aversive tool for dogs that don't respond. I purchased this collar and it is now my go to collar for nuisance barking! The warning tone is appropriately loud so the dog is able to hear it even when their excitement level is up. If the dog doesn't stop at the warning tone the vibration begins. This particular collar allows for the dog to learn without causing physical discomfort. Most dogs stop barking simply at the tone once they learn the parameters of the collar. We have also used this on a nervous/reactive dog when walking on leash with huge success. Once the dog learned the parameters of the collar, the collar was placed on for a walk. The dog began his nervous vocalizing and then received the warning tone. He immediately stopped and relaxed and was able to handle walking with other dogs in the vicinity without becoming nervous or vocalizing. It was wonderful to see that this collar didn't just create a shut down, anxious dog. It relaxed the dog as if it snapped the dog out of the anxiety loop and he was able to enjoy his walk! I would highly recommend this collar as a first go to for barking. I recommend this collar to my clients and have had very positive feedback! I am anxiously awaiting a small dog version of this collar. I have purchased other brands for small dogs and have been disappointed - consistently returning those bark collars. You should be very pleased with this product both in its quality, ease of use, and effectiveness!
