If you own a Katana Gen 3, ME-90, or any compatible BOSS product, the BOSS BT-DUAL adaptor is a mandatory upgrade. It transforms the hardware from a standalone unit into a fully integrated wireless workstation, and the execution is flawless. Connectivity & Performance: The dual-purpose nature of this adaptor is its strongest selling point. Being able to stream high-quality Bluetooth audio from my phone while simultaneously using the BTS (BOSS Tone Studio) app via MIDI is a game-changer for practice sessions. Zero Latency Issues: I was concerned about lag when playing along to backing tracks, but the sync is tight and the audio quality remains full-range and crisp. App Stability: The MIDI connection is rock-solid. Adjusting parameters, swapping patches, and deep-editing effects from a tablet is significantly more intuitive than menu-diving on the hardware itself. Design & Installation: The "thumb-drive" form factor is sleek and stays out of the way once it's plugged into the dedicated port. Installation was literally plug-and-play; the hardware recognized the adaptor immediately without needing a firmware headache. Final Verdict: While some might feel this should be built-in, the modular design keeps the initial cost of the amps/pedals down. For the added utility of wireless editing and jamming, it is worth every penny. It makes the "BOSS ecosystem" feel modern and remarkably flexible.

Using the app with the katana bass amps opens up so much. You can choose from so many different effects and configure each one. But being tethered with a USB cable sucks. Also this thing lets you stream music to the amp. I practice that way all the time now. Edit (1 Year Later): I couldn't imagine not having this device. I rely on it daily, and it's transformed the way I practice. With this device, when I turn the amp on, my tablet automatically connects over Bluetooth and outputs audio through the amp. Then I can use apps like Music Speed Changer to slow down songs and practice along with them, or just throw on a YouTube video and play along with that. There's so many effects built into the amp, but you only have access to 3/6 of them unless you connect a device. Using the katana bass app, you can easily set defaults for all the effects, change parameters on the fly, download presets made by other people, etc etc. And no one wants to bother getting a USB adapter so they can hook up their phone to this thing using a cable, or god forbid, their computer. Bluetooth makes it seamless! Should Bluetooth just be built into the amp? YES, but since it's not, this device is necessary to take advantage of all the features of the Katana 110 or 210 bass amps.

Completely changed the experience with my 50W BOSS KATANA. I recently bought it brand new and was pumped to upgrade from a Line6 Spider.. however did miss the customizability on my Line6 amp. Getting this device was a game changer. It was seriously easy to install and connected to my phone at ease. At the control of my phone, there was so much to change about my amps tone and the sound it produced. It offered more features on the app compared to physically turning knobs on the amp. If you have a BOSS Katana, it's definitely worth getting this.

Works exactly as advertised. Painless install. Just follow the instructions.

It works easily enough, just plug and play. My issue is that it drops my phone all the time mid playing and I’ll have to stop and set it back up so my pedal maintains the sounds I have loaded into it. Overall it’s a really nice concept, but as others mentioned my Katana 100W gen 3 should’ve come with this installed.

Overpriced for what it does, but that’s probably Boss’s fault. That said you absolutely need this thing if you own a Katana. Changes the game.

I think this is essential when you buy a boss katana amp. There are so many different tones you can get and playing backing tracks is awesome for practice. I live in an apartment so I always play with headphones. This has brought so much more to the game
