I've had a problem with facial cleansers causing breakouts. I started using my husband's shave cream for a face wash. It's the best for my dry skin. Its so good I even use it for a shower gel.

Licensed barber, this is my preferred product for hot towel shave services.

This shave conditioner is different from what I'm used to. I used it alone and then in combinatiin with more traditional shave creams like proaso and taylor of bond st. I like it either way. The jar says to rub in the leftover cream when done shaving. I did this when using this oroduct by itself nit when in combination with the other creams. I must say I was impressed by how smooth my skin was post shave. I still need to figure out how "thick" to apply. I did find this conditioner to clog up my merkur razor a little bit. I think by thinning it out a bit that it wouldn't be too much an issue. I would definitely buy this again, for personal use though, I bet this tub will last a long time. The scent is not a traditional shaving cream like aroma. More like a tropical type scent. I'm from the midwest and I imagine this is what a barber shop would smell like in florida lol. Buy it. At $10 you can't lose.

Great product

I’m new to safety razor shaving. So I’ll start by saying that a brush and bowl with this product is a must. I was simply applying with my fingers. Again, I’m new. Dipping a brush in water and mixing with Stephens in a bowl makes the lather much thinner and easier to apply thus easier to shave off. That said, Stephens is affordable and smells nice. Made with cocoa butter, gives it a coconut smell. It was recommended to me by a veteran shaver and I’m sold on Stephens and safety razor shaving.

I have been a customer of this product for about 5 years, and it has been a great shave cream. The last batch that I received was not what I was used to receiving. The shave cream was always a bit thick, so thin coats were the rule to avoid problems with my shaver, but it was always good and gave a smooth shave. This last time, it came in thick and almost solid.... It smelled the same, but it was clearly not the same product that I had bought from my barber, and lately online -- since I don't have access to it locally. I don't know if it was an old batch, an incorrect mix, a product of COVID-19 problems, or a copy of the original, but I ended up throwing it in the garbage. I tried to use it, and simply gave up after awhile. I will no longer be using it, and have moved on to other products.

This product was recommended by barbers who train other students. I found it to be an excellent product. I like to wet shave with a double edge razor, which gives me a really close shave. It is much like a straight razor shave for closeness that you would get from a barber shop shave. I like to use Stephens as a pre-shave. I wash my face first with soap made of goats milk, then while the face is wet, apply Stephens. Then I apply a shaving cream with a mug and brush and build up a good lather. I go with the growth of my beard and take my time. It is an enjoyable experience. I have sensitive skin and can get burn real easy so finding something that makes my skin comfortable is important. Stephens is also great as an after shave application. It is really good for the skin as it has oils and ingredients that make the skin smooth and soft. Made in the U.S.A. as well.
