This black walnut flitch comes from a small farm just outside Kansas City in Osawatamie, Kansas. Rather than using the tree for firewood, the farmer wanted to ensure a furniture-maker could give the tree a second life. The flitch had several cracks and loose bark, but we were happy to seal them up and turn it into a beautiful coffee or sofa table. The piece is very raw and organic, and at a half-inch thick, we wouldn't recommend putting it in high-traffic areas. Please note the legs will be shipped separately; we have predrilled the holes to make reassembly easy -- all that is required is a screwdriver or power drill to reattach.
