Cute, portable knitting board/loom!
I have a background in crochet which I learned from my mom…and then I randomly decided that I wanted to learn how to knit too, but messing around with one hook in crochet was hard enough, and I didn't think I could learn how to coordinate two needles with knitting at the same time. I started researching more about knitting to see if I would like it, and stumbled upon loom knitting. After learning more about loom knitting, I found various websites and brands for looms/knitting boards. Then I found--in my opinion one of the most reputable--Authentic Knitting Boards. As I kept watching their videos and looked at the free patterns on the website, I was very interested.I decided to buy it on here first, through Amazon to give it a try…and I LOVE IT.I LOVE loom knitting! This is the perfect board to get started on, so far I've made the Baby Boo Booties and Hat!! [...]I'm glad I started using these smaller knitting boards with the metals pins, rather than the plastic bulky knitting looms. I feel like these are very high quality and you don't have to worry about your pegs breaking! The Tadpole knitting board is 6 inches long, has 16 pins/pegs/needles on both sides, comes with a knitting hook, and 7 patterns.I am really enjoying this. It's so easy to knit on these once you get the hang of it! So much that I also bought the Authentic Knitting Board All n One!I am feeling so ambitious, I may even get the 38'' Afghan knitting board!Having a background in crochet helped to my enjoyment as well--when you're binding off some projects, you'll need to use the crochet hook. If you have basic knowledge like chain foundation or single crochet stitch, you'll appreciate loom knitting even more. I was glad I could apply some of my crochet knowledge here. But, I don't think that if you've never crocheting before that you won't enjoy loom knitting--it just helped me finish/bind off my project more easily. The videos on youtube and especially on Authentic Knitting Board are extremely helpful!!I would definitely recommend this little tadpole knitting board--it's super cute and fun for small projects like scarves or baby items and highly portable! I also have the needle cover in blue that I bought from the authentic knitting board website to protect it! :)Get one!!!

Hard to Adjust to Smaller Gauge
I have been working on the Knitting Board looms for some time. Adjusting to this much smaller gauge is giving me difficulties. The loom itself is made beautifully - good strong wood, nice strong metal pegs. Everything has been smoothed so that no part will catch individual fibers of the yarn. I have yet to make a full project, but again, that's simply because I can't get the hang of it yet. I get a little better each time, though, so if you're also having difficulty adjusting to it, give it time.

Too small. Yarn bunches up in the small slot. If you want a loom, go with the plastic models you see in the box stores. I think they are Darice brand.

Not for me
Wrong for me. Too far apart. Might work for you.

Very tiny
I thought the gauge on this would be smaller, but it wasn't any smaller than the sock loom. It also doesn't have grooves in the pegs to help slide the yarn off. None the less it is small and easy to carry stuffed in a pocket or purse. It will make narrow scarves or other things if you want to sew the strips together.

helpful
I should read things more carefully. I didn't know the loop would be so small... but I guess it more meant for children then adults. it still works great! I only make scarfs, so the scarfs will be alittle thinner then normal but the loop still works great. I got the wooden one because I had the plastic one's and the pugs kept coming out. so thought wood would be safe for that anyways. it also came with alittle book on ways to make other things, besides scarfs. came in a week.:)updated : I used it for the first time today.. and yes it's easy to use. but it's so small! the weave is so tight, it's sometimes hard to pull the yarn from the nails. after a few loops and a few pulls , the yarn becomes a bit luser

This is a great way to get kids (or yourself) knitting winter scarves. Did you know G.I.'s need them?

I was a little disappointed at how small it was...but still it works for what I wanted it for.

Neat little board. Only fault is that wood gets scratched when using tool to lift yarn. This could be corrected if small grooves were incorporated into the construction of this loom (such as in the Knifty Knitter looms). Instruction manual leaves a lot to be desired. I went online and found a video for beginners which helped a lot.

Wonderful mini knitting loom.
Good quality, strong and solid mini knitting loom. Small enough to carry around with you. Fun and funky, I adore my cowl ( the first item I made with this loom) using the figure eight stitch. No rough edges to catch your yarn. Excellent all round!
