Isn't quality all-purpose sewing thread supposed to be 3-ply? Serger thread is usually only 2-ply.

Yes all purpose sewing thread is surprise to be 3ply but that’s not what my argument is all about. These threads are of bad quality it won’t work good with any machine except hand sewing so it’s definitely not all purpose by quality. It’s elastic thread. Breaks every moment. It’s bad, period. And I don’t know why I won’t get refund even after I spend $12 to return it back to vendor, they refused to refund me because I turned down his plea to cancel the return, keep the thread while he refund me $8 for a stuff that I bought for $20plus. I turned his offer down because I did not want to keep the thread. I hate to see it laying around in my workshop when I can’t have any use for it. I just want my refund back, period.

I have an older sewing machine. I am having a hard time looking for thread, because the spool on time has a big hole. I dont use the sewing a lot but

The hole in these spools is not as large. Ok not slightly larger than a regular spool. I am extremely satisfied with this collection

Can it be used for embroidery?

No this is just for sewing. You have to use thread that is made for embroidery.
