Beautiful Quality
Several other people have reviewed this product and raved about the quality. I will as well. It's pretty amazing. From the pictures I wasn't certain if the plug itself is solid steel or some other material. I now believe it is aluminum. But I am not certain. I attempted to upload a video, I am not sure if it comes through. But in the video you can see that the magnet can be removed from the screw and the screw and magnet can be placed into the recessed area in the drain plug. And the magnet works pretty darn well. I did what others suggested and put a little bit of the weak lock tight or I loctite type of product on the threads of the screw that holds the magnet in place. Overall I am very happy with this. I definitely feel out like I got my money's worth. A good product.Update: After a few hundred miles, it is still in place and still looks great. And no leaks. I'm actually buying another one for my other car.Another update: I LOVE this thing. Quality is EXCELLENT. I won't rave about something if it isn't. I have now changed oil a second or third time. Each time, I remove this from my oil drain pan and the magnet is doing its job, collecting metallic shavings from my old engines. I have one of these on each of my cars. I have over 12,000 miles on my cars since installing these drain plugs and no issues. No leaks. No loss of the center magnet (mild loctite on the center piece has held so far). I will buy another of these if I ever get another vehicle.

STRONG MAGNET !!!
Great product... I replaced the old stripped drainplug on my 2014 Ford Expedition with one of these...Drawback-Pretty short and no rubber crush/seal washer... Didn't care for the flat Aluminum one it came with so I used some 3/4" metal covered/rubber crush washers instead... That's where having it a tad bit longer would have been nice with more threads in the hole... Not leaking as installed... I'm petty finicky about such things... It was a good choice!

Excellently designed product.
I bought this item quite some time ago for my Honda Valkyrie. I have a number of motorcycles so split my riding between them. I finally got 4000 miles on the oil, and changed out the factory plug with this one. Prior to today I had not even opened the package. I took it apart before I installed it and was pleased to find out that the hole that the magnet resides in is sealed so even if the magnet came loose you won't loose your oil. This magnet is STRONG. There is no doubt that it will collect any and all magnetic particles in the oil. Before I installed it I put a dab of VibraTight on the threads of the magnet as a little insurance. I have no doubt that in another 4K miles there will be metal all over this magnet, and the way it is designed you can pull the magnet out and it will release the particles so that you can clean the plug up. A very slick design indeed.

10 STARS
I have had this installed for about 10k miles. It fit perfectly in our 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee. I have had zero problems with any leaks. Thanks to others complaining that the screw and magnet can fall out I put a dab of blue thread lock on the red screw and made sure it was good and tight. I changes my oil today and could see particles that had collected on the tip. Proof that it is working and doing its job. I simply wiped them off with a microfiber cloth and it was good as new. The magnet is very strong and the part is very high quality. While it may not be a necessity its good to know that my engine is not recirculating tiny metal particles. This was the only MAG plug I could find that the magnet is 100% enclosed so there is absolutely no possible way for it to come off and possibly cause more harm then good. I would give this 10 stars if I could. My OCD thanks you

Awesome oil plug but... *CAUTION REQUIRED*
I purchased this plug, received it a few days later, and here's the deal. This oil plug is awesome, the machining quality is high, the magnet is strong, the idea is nice that you can pull the magnet out and all the particles captured can easily be discarded BUT...YOU have to be careful, as is mentioned in a few other reviews there is not a ton of thread engagement and while it's perfectly fine for most folks do yourself a favor and pull your current plug, if this one looks shorter then don't buy it! Also, I would NOT recommend torquing this bolt to the recommended tq of ~33ft/lb at all. Consult your service manual for tq specifications and if it starts to feel sketchy DON'T OVERTIGHTEN it. Finally, the red center screw that holds the magnet in the plug looked tightened but was finger tight so make sure you tighten it before installing.

Aluminum bolt with a steel cap on magnet:
Original review:It's bigger than the Jeep JK OEM plug, so I can use a bigger socket (without rounding the head like the OEM). It took a bit more torque than the measly 26 ft/lb the spec calls for (I had a slow drip) but I tightened it a little more and it stopped.Based on reviews, I added blue threadlock to the plug and it's still there (200 miles). I'm confident I'll be able to remove it next time.24 Month Update:It leaks every time until you tighten a lot. Gamble on the oil pan threads being stronger than this aluminum bolt. I just check it (and tighten it again) the day after the oil change.

The magnet is stupid strong and the screw cap for cleaning is evidence ...
OK, it's an oil drain plug and there are plenty of arguments as to whether or not this sort of thing makes any kind of meaningful difference. For me personally, it's simple. If iron shrapnel is stuck to the end of the drain plug, it's not floating around the inside of the crankcase looking for something to screw up. The magnet is stupid strong and the screw cap for cleaning is evidence of someone putting thought into this part. I purchased 2, one for my 2017 Accord and 2017 CR-V. The oil pan plug bosses on these vehicles are a little deeper, so some additional length on the plug would be nice. Overall would recommend to a friend and am happy with the purchase.

Magnet fell out.
I bought two of these for similar cars. On both units, the magnet fell out in after the second oil change. The drain plug still plugs the oil, but now it's just an ordinary drain plug.
