Best series in a long time, need the next book now!!
I was offered this book in exchange for an honest review. Although the app I needed wasn't working for some reason so I ended up paying 99cents.First of all I need to say I could not wait for this book to be done. I needed to know what happened with the characters and how their lives went on and were changed after the death of Seth. But as soon as I started reading I have to say the first third of the book did not hold my interest. I actually started skimming thru it. I prefer books that have more dialogue but this was not just no dialogue. It was needless information I thought and nothing was happening. But nevertheless I kept on because I knew it had to get better after reading the other books. And it did not disappoint!!Halfway thru the book it got interesting. With Sasha being who she is caused all kinds of problems. And Krissa had shut herself out after killing Seth. I felt so sorry for her. And I was kept wondering if she was going to lose Owen for good. I found myself getting so mad at Krissa for not just telling Owen everything, after all he knows everything else. But I feel like things there will work out but I'm team fox and have been from the beginning. So I can't help but wish fox would win. Lol yea I know.Anyway, the book was written very well. And after the first part of it, I couldn't put it down. I read it in one day. I had to know what was going to happen next. And before I was ready it was over. And what a cliffhanger!! I'm so mad right now!! Krissa is the best friend ever. Taking the dark influence like that. Will her friends be able to help her?? Idk...I need the next book now!!!I want to finish by saying THANK YOU Madeline Freeman. You wrote one of the best series I've read in a long time. The first I've read of your books and I'm hooked. You are a great writer and storyteller. Now hurry up with the next book!! :)

Disappointed
I liked the 3 first books a lot. They were written from Krissa's point of view (POV). In this book, we get to hear from other characters POV. It's quite annoying, because it detracts from the story rather than add anything to it. Why? They aren't interesting enough characters, and frankly, reading their stories is just.. boring. It feels like filler material. It's a shame.

It Toock A while...
It took a while for me to get into this story. In the beginning it was almost too juvenile to hold my interest... However, after a bit the story line picked up, seemed to give itself a shake and had enough interest to hold my interest. Enough so that I will continue to read this series to see where the author is going to go with it. One other problem I had was with the editing. Especially in the beginning of the series the editing was bad enough to be problematic. There were so many copy errors that it interfered with the story line. My eye kept getting caught up in the mistakes enough to curtail with the enjoyment of the story... ( I wish that what editing one needed to do with the review could be done before it was sent off. It is so ready to send that it jumps the gun before one is ready to send it off! You used to be able to check the review and fix the copy before you sent it out. Recall it and fix anything that needed fixing before it was taken. )

Great series
I'm rushing through the series and can't stop...I love the characters, the relationships, the suspense of the story, and the back drama. The only reason I went with 4 instead of 5 stars on this one was because I didn't like how Krissa lost focus on the night of the eclipse to worry about a boy..OK, it was Owen...but it didn't feel right that she wasn't 100% all in focused. Trying not to spoil...just disappointed in her.

Madeline Freeman fans will NOT be disappointed. What a wild ride!!!
Mesmerizing story. This fourth book in the Clearwater series does not disappoint!!! The characters are well defined and while you get to know them they can still surprise you. The witches are wounded and staggering to keep to their feet. Krissa, as usual fights with all her strength to protect her friends. What will it cost her? Crystal has one agenda, to regain her power. Sasha's driving focus is vengeance. After all the chaos, fear, loss and violence the characters have endured they now must contend with a new and implacably evil enemy with a laser focused agenda and no concern for anyone who gets in their way.The story was so fascinating it's easy to be annoyed at interruptions. I am looking forward to the next one.

why?
Oy. The only way to make this better is to make a list of Krissa's chapters. Why the author decided to write this installment in multiple points of view, after the first three are in first person, is beyond me. And the character points of view she chose are boring and add nothing to the overall story arc. I'm almost sorry I bought the next two books--if they're also multi-pov, I will return them.

Another winner, loved this book
Way to go Madeline, knocked it out of the park. I was a tiny bit worried at the beginning because it started out a bit slow but then all my favorite characters came into play and it ramped up quickly to a exciting and exhilarating ride. I burned the midnight oil to get to the thrilling end and can't wait for the next book. I was part of the ARC that was the first to read and offer honest input and am glad I was able to read it. I found only 4 words that were out of place or misspelled but they didn't detract from the story.

The last few chapters are the only thing saving this from one star
The series has been ok so far. Nothing to recommended and get too excited over. But it was a nice easy simple slightly interesting read. That is until this book. I had to skim whole chapters because of the same repeated internal struggle just looping and looping. The only saving grace was the last few chapters when everyone stopped the woe is me attitude and actually got along with the story.
