If your child is 5-8, then this is the intended age of this short book. Some of the reviewers here said it was for too little of kids and their older children didn't like it.The description clearly says this is for ages 5-8, so if you're buying it for a ten or twelve year old, be prepared for a bored and disinterested kid.Great pictures and not too much highly detailed information, our daughter has read it probably 200 times, no exaggeration. This was a distant second but a much safer option than her first birthday pick, and actual live wolf.We have bought these National Geographic readers before and have always been happy.

I bought this for a four-year-old whose mom reads to him and his best friend. It’s another winner from National Geographic, which is no surprise. These books are a great way to help children develop an interest in learning about the wider world. Also, this one is kind of funny at one point where it says that when one wolf starts howling, they all start howling. Kids like fun facts like that.

My 2 year old LOVES this entire series of Nat. Geo Readers... I have purchased about 25 different titles, "pre-readers" as well as Level 1 & 2 readers. She loves them all & will ask for certain ones. The "pre-readers" level books are extremely simple & great because she memorizes the words & can "read" it herself. We love the more advanced ones too, because there is more information to talk about. I have learned quite a few facts, myself!) What a great series. The price is reasonable & pictures are great. These are really getting her interested in nature, animals & science... I will continue to buy these as they are released, for our collection!

Good number of pages. Good weight to it. Good pictures. Good lettering. My 6 year old daughter who loves wolves loves this book. Due to her reading level, which is above average, she skims through and reads only about 4 pages at a time. I think this is good; she will grow into this book/special edition magazine. I would buy again for a kid aged 5-8. Nice enough to keep in her bookshelf for a while, not recycled right after she reads it, like you would with a magazine.

I work on a school bus and use books to help kids pass the time till we reach where we are going. I have two wolf books on my bus for kids 5 to 10 years of age. One is Wolves for kids and the other is this one National Geographic Wolves. They like this one better because the Photo's are better and there was more too it. I am slowly getting more books like this one for them and looking forward to seeing their smiles when they see the new books.

I bought this for my elderly mother. She will be 92 in a few days. And she loves Wolves!!! I didn't realize it was a child's book, but that is OK. She really enjoyed the magazine. It is something she can pick up and read and reread as many times as she wants. By the way my family and I have learned that is necessary to provide mental stimulation for the elderly. We have been sending her magazines on many different subjects. I signed her up to receive travel information from every state in the U.S. My niece took some of her calendars and hung the individual pages up on the wall. So her walls are covered with flowers and birds. And we can always change the pictures for a different look in her senior care home.

This little booklet of information about Wolves is really cool. It describes the various types of wolves, their pups, and so forth. My daughter loved it, as we purchased it along with her Wolf "Luka." ❤🐺 The Booklet is something really special to add with the purchase of the Wolf.
