Esembly Cloth Diaper Cover, Mist, Size 2 (18-35lbs)

I have been cloth diapering my son since he was about two weeks old. While I was pregnant, I went down the rabbit hole of the internet cloth diapering community, where it was suggested not to go “all in” on one type and to have several different brands/methods in your arsenal. I followed that advice, but quickly switched to only using the esembly system. When used as directed there are no leaks, no blowouts. We also have Bum Genius pockets which I thought from my research were going to be the holy grail but no. They leaked where esembly never does. Esembly has booster inserts you can buy for night time or if your kid is a super soaker. We use the extra inserts now that he’s 10 months and is in size 2. Since we registered for a couple esembly starter packs (comes with 3 inners and 1 outer) for our shower, we didn’t have to invest too much and have save a FORTUNE by not buying disposable diapers. I traveled for a week and decided to just use disposables for ease, and I was shocked at how they blew out and leaked. In my experience, this system is a million times more leak/blowout proof than disposables. I also love how it’s mostly organic cotton touching my baby’s skin. No grosss chemicals. We never have to deal with diaper rash (and he has super sensitive skin - breaks out from detergents and some mainstream disposable brands he has tried in times of necessity, like when we were in the PICU with RSV….) anyway… I love these diapers. I wish they made a size 3 because I’m afraid he’s going to grow out of size 2. That’s one thing to note - my kid is not in the high % for height or weight and we were in size 2 at 4 months. But now at 10 months we are still in 2s and still on one of the smallest snap closures. That said, I don’t see how we will be able to fit in these til potty training but fingers crossed! Oh, now that he’s older we wash the inners with a little bleach in the cycle and run an extra rinse wash after if they start getting a funky smell. Fixed it every time. I just realized this is a review of an outer, but if you’re considering the whole cloth diaper system, I hope this is useful. I remember feeling really lost when I was pregnant and wanting to cloth diaper and everyone has their own opinions. These work great for me and my family.

I’ve been using esembly for a few months and I love it! No blow outs, fit is easily adjustable as they grow, stains come right out when line dried in the sun and the patterns are so cute. Will be buying the size 2 for my daughter when needed.

Perfect for use as a swim diaper cover, especially for a breastfed babe iykyk! The elastic on the side is nice and snug and the snaps allow for easy adjusting of the waist size. Used the size chart to pick what size and it was a perfect fit! The material and snaps feel very high quality, would buy again!

These are softer and way more waterproof than most covers. I use them with flour sack towels and love it. Two of these and 20 towels is only about $80 for an entire newborn stash that doesn't have blowouts. These fit my baby from birth at 8lbs but I don't think they would fit a baby who is much smaller. Snaps are good quality and don't come undone. Very happy with the price.

My 4 month old is a power pooper, and prior to finding these covers I was doing 3+ outfit changes a day and endlessly cleaning out the car seat etc because of blow outs. Tried so many different brands/sizes of diapers with no luck. Was about to give up hope and accept my fate as the endlessly poop covered mother, but then saw a Reddit post of someone having a similar problem who said they started putting these washable covers over their babies regular diaper. Hallelujah!!! Now (most of the time) his blow outs are contained to the washable cover, and I haven’t had to scrape poo out of a car seat since. The adjustable sizes are good, but we ended up sizing up earlier than 17lbs as recommended, at about 15.5lbs. I don’t know how a 16lb+ baby could fit into the size 1 cover, they are tiny. (Photo shows a 15lb baby in the size 1 cover) The patterns on the fabric are so cute - we plan on using these as swim diapers too. The fabric is fairly soft and not that bulky considering it’s waterproof, and washes and dries really well. They feel a little on the pricey side, but I bought all of ours on sale for $10-12 each, and I would definitely buy them again at that price.

I am very happy with the purchase and the quality. However, the reason I gave for it is because the scrunchie rubber on the side makes mark on sensitive skin of newborn. It will be great if you can improve that scrunchie :)

These outers work great over cloth or disposable diapers to avoid blowouts. Also the pattern is super cute, which helps too.

We used these for my 3.5 month old when we went to the beach and the pool over a swim diaper since the swim diaper only catches solids and he’s not there yet. It was great though! Worked as I intended and I could adjust it to be small enough to fit him since he was on the smaller side. Easily washable and held up great with no fraying!

10/10 if your thinking of cloth diapering i highly recommend this cover with their inners. I cloth diapered for a 20 months with my first baby and used a very popular brand noras nursery and had leaks ALL the time. Literally. All day evry day but i thought that was just normal with cloth diapering. But after learning noras nursery uses 100% polyester inners and how bad polyester i got rid of them and was searching for 100% cotton diapers and found these! The outter isnt cotten but it only touches the skin a tiny bit... anyway. After 1 full day of cloth diapering. Not one leak. Not one! No wet spots on his pants nothing! Amazing! Will be buying more to switch to 90% cloth diapering! (I still use disposables at night)

Love these diapers, they’re not intimidating for a first time mom like myself. We did disposable for the first eight weeks but someone had gifted me a couple of these and I anxiously tried them while we were home during the day at first. But once I saw how much more leak and blowout proof these are than disposable, I switched completely. I still do disposable at night for now because I still have some, but I think once I run out, I won’t be using them anymore. However if you’re thinking of purchasing the white “parchment” colour, just be aware it’s actually a more yellow-y cream colour in person, not white at all really.

This cover was really good until my baby was bigger (~14lbs) when he started leaking through it. It didn't fit him properly anymore so I feel like sizing was inaccurate with this one.

We’ve been using this over top of our 8 month old son’s disposal diapers for overnight use. We tried 4 different brands in various sizes to stop his bed wetting, and nothing worked. Finally we came across this product and have had no issues since!!! It holds the diaper in place perfectly and it stretches really nicely for a comfortable and custom fit. Would highly recommend!!
