Very sturdy! Love the extra tall height AND heavier weight! Gate is very secure!
This gate was recommended to me by a friend with kids and dogs. It was worth every penny! Got this gate to keep a 3 year old, 40 pound, very enthusiastic, high energy, strong dog in the large kitchen area while weโre out or if guests come. She stands on her hinds legs and pushes against the gates. She is at the tall end of what is considered a medium sized dog-specifically she is a German Pointer - terrier mix. We have 2 of these gates in use to block off both thresholds; one is wider than the other. The extensions that came with each gate attach easily and hold up well; they do not compromise sturdiness! The extra tall height AND the heavier weight are essential for keeping keeping dogs/kids/cats from climbing/jumping over or passing through the bars. I have found that heavier gates like this one do a much better long term job than their lightweight counterparts. The gate operation to open it is easy for adults but impossible for babies and little kids, as well as pets. It also has a color- marker so you can tell if gate is balanced and securely closed. And you can here when it shuts securely. Itโs an absolute must to measure your openings, including moldings that pressure mounts or wall fixtures to which gates may be attached. I found the printed instructions to be somewhat confusing but the visuals were very helpful. I think the instructions were written by someone who doesnโt speak and write English fluently. The most important thing is to remember that until the gate is almost completely in place, there will be a visual gap in the opening. This is not a default. And itโs written in the instructions and on box. So do not worry.

Great lifehack tool for baby gate MacGyvering
We have two baby gates, but not for a baby. We use them instead to prevent our young/lumbering/largish dog from coming upstairs. I've been through three different types/sizes of baby gates and they all SORT of fit in the places I want, but not completely. I am apparently the only person on Earth who wants to prevent another mammal from going up the stairs, but also has a stairway with one side being wall and one side being open wood railing. The number of options for this scenario are staggeringly limited. We really wanted to avoid having to drill it into the wall since we had that type for our actual human babies, but even the ones you drill into the wall don't have a good option for what to do with the side that is a banister. So then you're stuck with fiddling with the tension settings of each end of the gate to try and make it tight enough that it stands up, but loose enough that you can still open the gate. And, because of the setup of our stairs, the area where we can fit it above the floor board caused it to constantly sit at an unstable angle. I've tried all different placements, and really wound up with one TINY area of the stair landing where the gate could reach both walls. However, even once we *finally* get it to hold in place, all it takes is one kid leaning on it, another kid closing it too hard, or the dog seeing the cats and using it as a prop to stand up to see better, and the whole thing is humpty dumpty. I bought these wall cups because the pressure from the gate end pieces was damaging the wall/wood banister, and every time the gate would fall over, the wall would get scuffed and knicked. I had hoped these would help prevent some of that wall damage as well as give it a little more stability. We also had the issue that even though the gates say they fit certain widths, they really don't do certain widths in a secure way. You have to untwist the ends almost to the point of falling out. I MacGyvered the crap out of all the different possible combinations of the gate + add on + removing certain pieces of the pressure knobs, but the addition of these cups on one side only was JUST the right size for the gate to hold. These gave it just the right additional length to fit in the spot I needed the gate, as well as help secure the gate from constantly sliding out of place. I am very happy to say that since installing these, the gate is just the right snugness, and has only fallen over once when my four year old was hanging on the door. So I really probably didn't use these exactly for their conventional use, but if you are trying to maneuver your baby gate in an unusual place where nothing else quite fits, I recommend you trying these. I can also attest that they do help prevent wall damage and limit the gate's mobility against the wall. Very happy that this little purchase saved the day.

Simple way to save your walls!
We put these baby gate wall protector cups on the expandable ends of our pressure-mounted gate so when we crank it tight, it doesnโt dig into or dent the drywall. They basically spread out the pressure so the gate feels super solid but the wall stays clean and smooth. I like that they have a little lip so the gate ends kind of โsitโ in them and donโt slide around as kids are pushing on it all day. Only small downsides: they do stick out from the wall a bit, so the whole setup looks a little bulkier than just the gate by itself, and you have to make sure the wall is fairly flat or they can feel a tiny bit wobbly at first until you re-adjust. Theyโre also just basic looking, nothing fancy design wise. But overall they do exactly what I wanted โ I can really tighten the gate without worrying Iโm slowly destroying my walls, which is honestly worth the few little quirks.

I would buy them again if I needed them.
Works well as described, Iโm also very happy that I didnโt have to put holes in the wall again. Seems very sturdy and looks great, super easy to just click into place and use your baby gate to hold them up.

Mounting cups withstand a lot of force and keep walls gouge-free
I bought these vmaisi mounting cups to use with a Munchkin XL baby gate at the top of a staircase to increase the sturdiness and have been very satisfied. These mounting cups were very straightforward to use / easy to install. You just stick the mounting cups that came with your baby gate into these cups and turn the adjustment rod on your gate until it is firmly pressure-mounted to the wall. Note that these add a little bit of overall width to your gate, so you'll need to factor in an additional .98" (basically an inch) to your width calculations if you need to figure out gate extensions. I used the bottom cups on a baseboard and the top mounted directly to walls, so I had the top adjustment rods turned out a lot more than the bottom ones. I didn't need to drill holes to attach these to the wall. They are very sturdy without doing that. The larger diameter of these (2 1/3 inches) than the typical mounting cups that come with your gate, along with the riveted lines on the side that faces the surface you're mounting it to is what allows for a sturdier grip to keep your gate in place. It also allows your surfaces to be protected a bit more because the larger rubber grips diffuse crazy kid or animal energy thrown their way. My strong 2 year old loves to try to grab, pull, and shake the gate like it will magically open for him if he tries hard enough (the gate hasn't moved a bit, and you'd think he's learn that he shouldn't bother, but he sometimes still goes at it like his life depends on it.) Update: My child has grown and we no longer need the gates. There were NO marks on the walls when taking the gates off using these at the top of the stairs. We didn't have the mounting cups on the gate at the bottom of the stairs and there were gouges out of the drywall and baseboard moulding. I wish we would have used these on the bottom gate too. I highly recommend this product! I'm glad we had a little extra ease of mind at the top of the stairs and they did a good job of protecting drywall and moulding.

Wall saver!
We were caring for my grandchildren and had purchased an extra wide baby gate that was supposed to hold to the walls without any type of adhesive. Unfortunately, with our textured walls, we were forced to use the adhesive cups that came with the baby gate in order to make it sufficiently sturdy. The worst part of this was that, when we removed the gate, the adhesive from the cups pulled off the wall paint and texturing. I'm not sure how I found these silicone cups; perhaps they were a deal of the day on Amazon...but when I saw them, I knew they were the answer to preventing wall damage. We now have them in place, and they definitely create a secure and safe attachment for the baby gate when the expansion screws are sufficiently tightened. They are easy to use and work well. My only other comment is that these cups do tend to rotate quite a bit at first when tightening the screws...and it can be a little difficult to keep them centered...which is likely the safest attachment to the walls.

These are a lifesaver
These are a lifesaver for so many different things inside and outside the house! Very inexpensive, incredibly easy to use, perfect size, they fit just about everything and the quality is very nice! They keep rods, baby gates, dog gates etc from making those puncture in your walls and keep them securely in place. Can also use them on the bottom of chairs that you don't want moving around. So many different uses for these. They really are a must have.
