Not Quite Right
Updated Review 2017-08-10 after using a different replacement when the Knonew screen shatteredPurchased this to repair a shattered screen on an LG G5 VS987. It worked but had some issues.First as has been mentioned in many of the other reviews, there is a pad that is not included on the display, that must be transferred from the old screen to the new screen or touch sensitivity and proximity sensor will be impacted. Many other replacements include this on the replacement screen due to it's critical nature to the functioning of the phone. I did transfer it, and touch worked, though touch seemed off a bit from what it was before, not sure if it was related. A picture of this gasket/donut is attached. The screen once installed was decent, and the quality of the display was good. However, the fit was not quite the same as the OEM with the screen being ever so slightly raised above the case, likely due to the subpar quality of the frame, a common issue with low quality replacements. See more regarding this below.Given the above issues, if you are seeking a replacement, I recommend choosing a different screen. After another unlucky incident I shattered the Knonew screen and found this replacement to be a better solution:http://amzn.to/2hsgh2AThe tools that were included are a joke and should not be used. They might work in a pinch but are likely to cause more damage in the process, as they are made of cheap metal and likely to strip the delicate screws. I would definitely recommend a real set of screw drivers for this work such as this one.http://amzn.to/2u8aW6GYou will also require prying tools to remove the delicate glass from the phone case, while some items like credit cards might be adequate, a good set of spudgers will make the job go better. Consider this set.http://amzn.to/2v0MxPlThe installation process is pretty straight forward, and while not technically complicated, involves the proper application of significant force in some areas. The screen is a friction fit into the case. The phones electronics are mounted to the back of the screen and so care is required when removing the previous screen or the electronics that must be transferred will be damaged. However, removing the screen requires some amount of prying that puts everything at risk.Further complicating the situation was this replacement. While the transfer of the electronics went well, in the process of placing it into the back again, similar force is again required. However, the glass began to delaminate from the LCD/Frame as it was being placed into the case, indicating an inferior job in the quality of the lamination when compared to the original OEM screen. I did manage to complete the installation with care, but the process was delicate.Additionally, once reassembled, everything was working, except the ear speaker. Private calls could no longer be placed and speaker phone was required as the speaker that is used when placed to the ear was no longer functional. This is not likely due to this screen and I only mention it, because this problem, I had to remove and reinstall the screen a couple more times, each time the delamination becoming progressively worse. After a few attempts, I no longer felt the screen would survive another, and so left the phone in the state with the broken ear piece.Unfortunately, the phone was dropped again. Each time it was dropped the screen would pop loose from the back, something that did not happen with the OEM. This may have been due to the process of removing and reinstalling loosening the back, but also may have been due to an inferior frame being used, that was not quite a good fit, and related to the delamination problem. Eventually, the dropping resulted in a crack and ultimately the screen must now be replaced. As such I am apprehensive to purchase this screen a second time. This time I will be using this alternative replacement hoping to have a better experience, the additional cost is likely justified. Pictures of the frame detachment are attached. This screen was a much better replacement all around resolving all of the issues that I had with the Knonew screen, making me almost happy that I broke the Knonew screen.http://amzn.to/2hsgh2A

Seems to be an adequate and possibly OEM replacement
I broke my LG G5 H820 display when disassembling the phone to investigate the GPS. I saw no visible damage to the display but felt a snap when prying it away from the case. The phone would power on and the LEAD light would flash blur but the display was black. I figured I'd take my chances and replace the display instead of junking the phone. I got this display which appears to be OEM by comparing to the one on my phone. There are no instructions included with this but you can easily find them by Googling.Things you will have to do to to install:The display flex cable has a protective tape you will have to remove and then you can set the flex cable onto the corresponding pins. There appears to be adhesive on the back, hence the removable tape. There is also a piece of blue tape covering a metal mesh material. This needs to be removed as I believe it is a mesh contact pad for the 8mp rear camera. The speaker and the speaker bracket will need to be transferred over from your old display. The speaker just clips in while the bracket has a little glue holding it down and it is sticky enough to be reused. There is a rubber grommet that basically has holes that separate the proximity sensor from the ambient light sensor. I didn't know about this and assembled my phone and the tap to wake and even the power button were buggy. The display would also stay on while the phone was held to my ear while making a call. A Google search revealed the grommet was the issue. The process sensor and ambient light sensor are to the right of the front facing camera when viewing the phone from the front. After swapping the grommet, tap to wake and the power button function as they should along with the display turning on and off when held to or moved away from your ear.I'm giving it 4 stars because there is no mention of having to transfer the speaker and bracket and the proximity sensor grommet and also removing the protective tape. The included glass screen protector is a little short. I didn't use it. Other than that, it seems like an exact replacement. I also couldn't get a clear answer as to whether this is equipped with Gorilla Glass, but I assume it is since it appears to be OEM.
