Finally, a headset that doesn't crush my ears. I've used dozens of wraparound headsets that just absolutely kill my ears after an hour or two. This headsets applies it's pressure around the ears, instead on pressing down on them.Is the sound absolutely perfect? No. But it sounds pretty solid (especially for the price). It's the most comfortable headset in its price range that I've seen.Microphone works well so far also.Overall, a very solid pair of headphones, and the price ain't to shabby either.

Still kicking as of 2018. I was expecting the boom mic wiring to break after a while, but after nearly three years of daily actuation (and a few drops) it's running fine.No headaches from ear pressure either - incredibly soft on your head, and the band takes most of the (very small) weight, beating out a few $400 headsets I've had the privilege of trying on.Sound is worse than that of a $200 headset, but is far better than any $50 or $60 headset I've ever used. Clean bass (no muddy boost to compensate for tiny drivers) strong mids and a surprising high-end response.Good all-rounder, and by far the most comfortable headset I've ever worn anywhere near this price.

I can't stress how much I was anticipating finally getting these. I went to Pax South in January 2018 and bought the Cougar Vantaar Keyboard while there and it has been great. Ordered this with their Cougar Minos X3 Optical Gaming Mouse and it has also been great.However, like someone else here mentioned, straight out of the box the mic for this headset would not work. Furthermore the sound quality was just atrocious. I have $20 bluetooth earbuds that literally sound way better. I don't know if the headset I was sent was just defective or if that was the way it was supposed to sound but yeah, that was my experience with them. I honestly hope the ones I was sent weren't the way they were meant to work cause these were very disappointing.

After having it for a few months, the wire snapped in half. I've NEVER had a headset do this before, I've never seen a wire just snap in half. Obviously the headset is unusable. Until this point, it performed well for its price range, but the build quality is obviously very lacking and I wouldn't buy it again, as I want something that'll last at least half a year

My son is hard on headphones and he packs them in his bag to go from my house to his Dad's every weekend. The retractable mic is excellent because his other ones kept breaking or the connection got weak. These headphones are tough! Very well made and sturdy. He also wears glasses and these are very comfortable for him. He is on his PC for many hours at a time so that's extremely important. These were well worth the price for sure and I'm glad I did some research before buying a pair because these are comparable to others that cost up to $200.

This is a $40 headset, so I'm not going to spend a lot time to review it. I had a on-ear Logitech USB headset when I stopped doing competition gaming in 2005. In terms of mic and headphone audio quality, this Cougar headset isn't that much better. I'm sure that the sound quality in-ear is going to improve as it breaks in, but the mic is the worst, cheapest, mini electret capsule they could find. I suppose I could just replace it.Where this headset shines is the design. I could only dream about something like this back in 2004. Super comfortable padded suspension, extra large frame and designed so there are no "hot spots" where weight is concentrated. I could wear this thing for hours without fear of having sore spots. The ear pads are huge and soft. Though they're much thinner than they seem, since most of the apparent thickness is just a leatherette skirt. Still, very comfortable.Audio quality is mundane, but not bad for the cost. Doesn't seem to be acoustically closed, but too muffled to be acoustically open. I think it's just a cheap shell that leaks a lot of sound. The range of the drivers is pretty decent, but the bass is too thumpy, the mid-range muddled and the treble is somewhat subdued. But it's definitely tolerable for long gaming sessions. These cans aren't as efficient as 'hifi' sets, but those sets don't cost only $40.My current gaming headset is an AKG M220 with oversized (110 mm) ear pads and an add-on, in-line mic. We'll see performs better.

I gave it 5 stars here but it's definitely a 4 1/2 star headset that's close to a 5. The sound quality is just right with the bass being the perfect amount to groove with. The mic itself from what I've tested sounded clear to me which I didn't have a problem with when it came to communicating with anyone. It's nice and snug on the head and I like the retractable string method it uses to position the top part of the headset which works much better than the side method that most headsets use. Overall a good item for the price and I could definitely recommend it out to anyone who's looking a decently priced headset.

Good value for the money. Don't sound as good as my bose quiet comfort, but it was a fraction of the price so that's not a fair comparison. Solid build quality, sounds better than the price would suggest. Looks a little ridiculous but I'll take it. I'd recommend this product.

Nice comfortable headset. Braided cable. The earpieces completely surround your ear, so no uncomfortableness​ at all. I haven't used the mic yet, but how it tucks away in the earpiece is neat. Sound quality is good, lots of bass, but maybe a little short on top end higher pitch notes. Have already used it for a few multi hour gaming sessions and it works great. All in all, great product for the price.

The overall performance of this headset was really good. The comfy padded headset is great. The sound quality makes my life way easier when I am playing games but the mic isn't as well. I get a few comments about my mic sometime making a bit of a static sound but this doesn't always happen.
