Amazing when it's on sale. Perfect for travel, and it's bright for dim lit room
When it's on sale for $500 this is the best projector you can get for that price. For $1k it's okaish as now it's competing with others. It's small and looks premium. It's small enough you can take it on a road trip with you just to project in your hotel. Android OS is a big sluggish but you can fix that with a firetv stick. The most important part it's bright and sharp.

Powerful and Versatile projector
This projector is exactly what I was looking for. I tried the sub $200 projectors but they were not bright enough. I tried the EF-100 and the brightness was amazing but the picture quality was not great once the screen got above 70". This EF-12 is the best of both worlds and the charry on top is that the sounds quality is quite good for the form factor. I planned to use this projector as my primary home theater display and also use it for family movie nights out in the back yard. It has been to cold and snowy outside to do the latter but the use of the projector as my home theater display has been nothing short of amazing!Pros:1. Brightness is high enough to cut the most well lit rooms2. 1080P quality is great for the price point3. The speakers get quite loud with great clarity4. the cooling fan is very quiet.5. The auto focus is fantastic6. the remote is bluetooth and is very responsive7. the standby to full on is very fastCons:1. The throw distance is shorter than i expected for a 100" display (This is affects where you place it in the room)2. The ceiling mount is sold separately (I have seen reviews where they got it in the box but this was not the case for me)3. Bluetooth does not work to connect to external speaker. (Like i said the sound is good but to center the sound it would be nice to be able to connect a bluetooth soundbar or similar)4. In very bright environments the picture does get a bit washed out. Conclusion:This was a great purchase however i would have opted for the EF11 (Same display specs without the yamaha speaker) if it were not for the sale that made the EF12 the same price as the EF11. Bottom line is the picture is fantastic and the sound for the EF12 is very good.

Great quality, needs a fix for Netflix
The Epson EpiqVision Mini EF12 delivers sharp 1080p visuals with vibrant colors, and the built-in Yamaha sound system is excellent for its size. It’s super portable and easy to use thanks to the built-in Android TV.However, it doesn’t support Netflix natively, which is a big downside for such an otherwise great streaming device. I hope Epson resolves this with a future update. Aside from that, it’s a fantastic compact projector for movies and shows.

Finally, the right one.
This is my fourth and final projector purchase in about 6 months of searching. My new (old) house has a perfect place in the basement for a theater setup next to the bar, but with only 8 feet of throw distance for a projector. I wanted something inexpensive instead of spending a thousand or more dollars on a name brand unit. The first projector I bought wouldn't fill the 100-inch screen at 8 feet, so now it's relegated to my 10-foot wide living room. The second was a short-throw model that would have worked well if it didn't struggle with HDMI sources, so I returned it. Then the third one (another short-throw) just didn't have the brightness and contrast I wanted. Unfortunately I missed the 30-day return window on that one right before I stumbled upon this Epson.Virtually all of the decent short-throw projectors I looked at were name brands that cost upwards of a thousand or more, and most used older DLP tech with expensive replaceable halogen bulbs. Many aren't even 1080p.Boom, all of a sudden this Epson Mini EF11 came out of nowhere. Laser, 1000 lumens, and it's a shorter-throw than most. Perfect.NO wonky bluetooth, no WiFi, no 5g, and no laggy smart features and apps. Perfect. All I need is one HDMI input to access my Yamaha 5.1 receiver and utilize the 4 HDMI input ports it provides. A Roku Ultra and my PC are all I use for content. The Epson is shooting a 100-inch picture from less than 8 feet away, and it's almost astounding. There is nothing lacking with the picture quality, contrast, and color depth. Soon I'll be showing it off to friends and family, and I'm sure the whole system will be a total hit. They'll be amazed.I bolted the Epson to the ceiling with a $13 mount from Amazon, and it didn't take long to adjust the picture to fill the screen nicely. The remote works great by simply pointing it at the screen. For movies and serious TV shows I fire up the surround sound system, but for lazy TV viewing I'm happy with the built-in speaker.I just wish I would have purchased this projector months ago, before I bought the others. Back then $600 was more than I wanted to invest, but I ended up spending a lot more before I finally settled on this one. In the end it was worth it.*This was NOT part of a promotion.*
