I purchased a beach cruiser off Craigslist and it had a new and comfortable seat. However the first time I rode it, the seat tilted backward, within the first 3 minutes of riding. The grommets or teeth on the bracket were stripped. So I ordered this Velo to replace it. Getting the pieces lined up to install was very hard, but I am not mechanically inclined, and I am not a bike rider. An avid biker my not have this trouble. I also ordered a layback seat post so that the seat was farther back and less pressure was on the backside of the seat. I weigh 209 and so far it is holding well.

Two 14mm Wrenches and Ten Minutes
Perfect heavy duty replacement for 20" Kent Ambush bicycle seat clamp. The factory part is light gauge metal and bends easily. The Velo clamp installs on the Kent saddle in 10 minutes or less and fits the seat post exactly. I permanently solved the bending problem for 6 bucks and saved myself at least $100 worth of hassle and aggravation trying to get it replaced under warranty knowing it would very likely bend again. By the way, Kent doesn't provide a parts list for this bike so you're on your own if you're a diy'er trying to source replacement items.

Exactly what I needed!
The factory seat clamp that came with the seat I ordered a while ago was cheap and ground down over a short period of time, so I went with this new Velo Seat Clamp and I am NOT disappointed! It’s sturdy and easy enough to assemble with a little dexterity, and I’m not worried that my seat with break into a 90 degree angle in the middle of a 20 mile race.

Saved me from buying a new bike
My son had a cheap Huffy Power Rangers bike and he busted the flimsy seat it had going over a bump. I learned that not all seats are the same. The ones with rails do not come with the clamp that attaches it to the post. And the Huffy bike did not have a clamp and rail system (which is why it broke I'm guessing). Now I got a new seat, but no old clamp to attach it to the post. This little guy saved me a lot of trouble and money. Fit perfectly.
