Pure & Simple Wool Blanket - Bone White - Twin

I decided to by a wool blanket in traditional style with stitched edges (not satin) and throw out my feather and cotton doonas. I was unable to locate an Australian made wool blanket. I then searched disposal stores that used to stock defence wool seconds or camping blankets. Australia once produced many wool items including blankets. Determined to have a wool blanket produced by a Western nation I searched the UK and USA. I was delighted when I saw a traditional wool blanket with a simple stitched edging made in the USA a Western Nation.The blanket washed and dried well on the first wash. It is light and warm. It seems to generate a lighter warmth than a feather doona. I am unsure how warm it will be in winter. If it is like the blankets we used to make it will be fine. If it is as good as the blankets we used to make I won't have to buy a second blanket for winter.So far I am happy with the Faribault Pure & Simple Wool Blanket. I am not sure if it is merino wool. It is still a nice blanket.The wool blanket reminded me of defence. A soldier's best friend against cold in war was a wool blanket. We used to take for granted our nationally or western made blankets and be assured of the quality of our domestic wool blankets for home and of course defence. It seems we can no longer buy any domestically produced blankets and most of the disposal stores in Australia have closed. We cannot buy second army blankets anymore. Who produces our defence force blankets was my next thought.

Blanket is beautiful and soft, washed it before use, hand cycle cold machine wash (front loaded Miele)Used real Wool cleaning from Woolpower, blanket became even softer after that.Use it as a bed blanket and wanted an "ordinary" 100 % virgin wool blanket.Prefer regular wool to Merino in blankets, better weight, i like blanket that are a little heavier when i sleep.Quality is first class! varm and soft for a traditional wool blanket, not cheap for me since i have to pay import tax because it was shipped to Sweden.But i think the blanket is well worth it, i am thinking of buying another one for my wife, who really liked the bone white color.Have to wait until winter to see how varm it keps me then or if i will have to use an extra bed layer.
