Marcia DeCoster never fails to impress, and this book, though not a traditional "beading instructions book", is one you will DEFINITELY want on your bookshelf! Through examining the artistic processes the artists go through in creating these gorgeous pieces of jewelry, Marcia gives us ideas on how to approach our own projects in a more unique fashion. After reading this book, I am finding myself thinking "outside of the box", and coming up with new projects, trying techniques and color combinations I had never attempted before. The ideas Ms. DeCoster presents here, along with the wonderful high-quality photographs (eye candy!) of each artist's work to illustrate them, are like taking a master class in beadwork design and technique from today's most talented bead artists. A refreshing change of pace from step-by-step projects books, DeCoster's unique "class" helped me improve as an ARTIST, and offered lessons normally only learned in a class (costing (at least) 10 times the book's price). Bottom Line: top artists share their own artistic processes, helping you improve your unique skills, all coordinated by the incredibly gifted Marsha DeCoster, at an incredible value. Buy!!! This is a beaders's bead book. It's full of new ideas in design and technique, ideas that make your fingers itch to experiment. DeCoster includes the work of a wide variety of skilled artists, from classic to funky, but there is nothing weird or way-out. I will be leafing through it often, appreciating the skills of others and finding new directions that I can apply in my own work.Beaders of all skill levels will find inspiration here, and intermediate to advanced beaders will find much to study and deconstruct.

This book, while not a book of projects, is incredibly inspiring. Beaders are always looking for eye candy and this book delivers! Marcia DeCoster is one of the most highly regarded bead designers of our time (see her book, "Beaded Opulence", part of the Master's Series) so the designers included in this book must be the best of the best. Reading their thought processes and inspirations is knowledge from which all aspiring designers can benefit. It's one of the best books I have in my extensive beading library.

I love this book by Marcia DeCoster! I love Marcia too! She's an awesome jewelry designer and her books are master quality! I loved all the photographs of the 30 illustrated jewelry artists beadwork. So gorgeous and so much talent. I only wish they had included instructions on how they made their pieces :-). Now that would be superb! Overall a wonderful, gorgeous book with great photography and bio's of each artist.

I also have the first book in this series, Suzanne Golden Presents. Although I love both Suzanne Golden's and Marcia DeCoster's beadwork, I greatly prefer this second book of interviews. DeCoster chooses a wider variety of beadwork artists, and her interviews beautifully evoke each artistic point of view and work style. She includes an interesting question about their use of the Internet as a resource in their work. Taken as a whole, the collection creates a portrait of the international community of beadwork artists and the ways they inspire each other. The book welcomes each beader reader as a member of that community.

Well presented, the pieces are well photographed, and the contributing artists interviews are informative and insightful. Although instruction is not included the pieces are quite inspirational.

I know one of the beaders, so really wanted to get the book to support her. It is well done and worth the money to get all the inspirations given. I wish that they had the instructions too, but it is fantastic to see all the ideas on what can be done!

Bought as a present, Very happy with quality and delivery but don't know much about the contents but am sure my daughter-in-law will love it.

A really inspiring book with lovely designs. So many different designers and lovely to have their comments on their beading and inspiration.

Wunderbare Kunstwerke professioneller Künstler. Nicht zum Nacharbeiten gedacht, aber Begeisterung und Freude sind beim Betrachten garantiert.Mit entsprechendem Material und Anleitungen wäre das Anfertigen mancher Schmuckstücke möglich. Ist aber, wie gesagt, nicht vorgesehen. Eigentlich schade. Trotzdem ein sehr schönes Buch!
