6-Pinned Vertically Slotted SC Practice Lock

Practice locks are used by locksmith students and also lock picking hobbyists to develop manipulation skills. This solid brass key-in-knob style (KIK) lock cylinder is a commercial duty, 6-pinned cylinder with a standard SC (Schlage) keyway. It features tight tolerances similar to OEM cylinders. We have used a precision CNC mill to create vertical slots in both the outer shell and the inner plug, which gives an excellent view of all the working parts. The lock is fully functional as a practice lock (can be picked in either direction without fear of losing parts), and each VSlot lock we sell has a unique, difficult to pick combination. Supplied with one working key and one incorrect key as a teaching aid. As a side note, we feel compelled to mention that this item is as striking in appearance as it is useful as a practice lock!
