In excellent, updated model, compatible with earlier rain bird systems. Took 15 minutes to replace my old rain bird. Wi-Fi access is a major addition, and took another 15 minutes to set up. Through Wi-Fi it is extremely easy to monitor/control one's sprinkler settings. I highly recommend.

I ordered a similar Hunter device from this vendor. It, and a replacement that Jamie (the vendor rep) sent separately, would not pair with my internet/server for some reason. This controller installed easily and paired just fine. I think its software is better, although it is only controllaable by my phone, rather than with the computer also. Jamie was wonderful to work with and was very responsive as we worked through the challenges.

This was a direct replacement for a Rainbird model from about 14 years prior. It mostly worked ok, but occasionally would not work. Late winter/early spring 2022 my SW Florida home experienced a bad drought that lasted 90 days. I was in Pennsylvania for almost 4 weeks and the old system did not work the whole time causing significant damage to newly planted fruit trees. I purchased this, installed it and got it setup on wifi in about 2 hours total. Just a 4 zone direct replacement so easy to hook everything. Works like a champ with perfect visibility whether inside my Florida home or in Pennsylvania. Buy this, you will not regret. I do not understand the reviews complaining about poor directions, difficult instalation or tough wifi hookup. I am 72 years d with only badic understanding of electrical systems. A new install would be a bit tougher, but only because of uncertainty over the sprinkler hookup.

I installed this Rain Bird controller yesterday. On a scale of 1 to 10 with 10 being the most difficult, I would give the installation a 3 or 4. Its easy to install. Anyone can do it. I have a Florida home and installed it outside. The wall is masonry so I needed a masonry drill for the mounting screws. I didn't use the mounting screws and anchors that came with it because I wanted something a bit more heavy duty but I'm sure the included ones would work well too. Just my preference. I followed the instructions on the very well done Youtube video from Rain Bird. After installation and manual testing, I installed the Android app on my Galaxy Z Flip 6 phone. I found that you need to give it a couple minutes to find the Wifi network (SSID). Once I realized that the rest of the app setup was a breeze. The app is so well laid out that I doubt I will ever need to open the box to program ever again. Very nicely done Rain Bird!
