Sega Genesis 1 (Original Model) Console System

It's in good condition and the games run very well.

First, what I can say is that its probably my favorite game system of all time! Even if I didn't live back in the Genesis days, the games are awesome! I have Sonic 1 and 2, as well as Streets of Rage 1 and 2. I've been playing a lot of these games over the years with an emulator and I decided I wanted to play the real thing. Actually I find it better to play these games on the real thing rather then using an emulator. The games just seem more fun to play on the original controllers and hardware, rather then playing on a keyboard or a ps2 knockoff pc controller. There where also 2 add-ons released for the Genesis, but this review is not focusing on them. This console is the best video game system ever made in my opinion!!! EDIT, about the best quality thing Use a CRT with at least s video, mod your genesis for s video and mod it for better sound as shown in these links [...] [...] The reason I changed my mind about rgb is because, it cost more to do, plus s video is close to rgb as long as you use a good cable. Pros and Cons +Very good system and inexpensive. +Games are inexpensive, and there's lots of games to chose from. +If you can afford it, you can get a flash cart called the Everdrive MD or the Mega Everdrive, and you can play roms that you downloaded to an sd card using original hardware, no emulation involved! +You can get RGB natively from the AV Port by using an rgb scart cable with a scart to component video transcoder, even though modding it for s video is cheaper if you mod it your self, and is close to rgb. +Works as good as it did back in the day, as I can imagine. - It can be expensive to get the cables, controllers and power supply, mainly cuz they cost around how much the console does. There ya have it!

I ordered a sega genesis as a Christmas present. Upon trying to play the console on Christmas it did not work even though there was a guarantee that it would. I contacted the seller and he said I would be able to receive a full refund. I was not able to return it as quickly as the seller would have liked due to circumstances and the time of year. When it was returned I received an email from the seller telling me that he would not refund my money because the console worked for him. So since it worked for him I asked for him to send it back, maybe it was just operator error. He informed me that if I wanted it back I would have to pay the shipping back. I had already paid 43.99 plus shipping and tax for the system, another 17.99 to ship it to the seller and now he wanted me to pay him to ship it to me. He was very rude and inconsiderate in his emails and not professional at all whatsoever!! I WILL NEVER PURCHASE FROM THIS SELLER AGAIN AND URGE EVERYONE TO PURCHASE FROM ANY OTHER SELLER THAN THIS DISRESPECTFUL, MONEY HUNGRY, INCONSIDERATE, UNPROFESSIONAL SELLER!!!

The sega genesis console is a great system to own. The console works great and then some. Unfortunately the console I have has aged very much with physical minor defects in both hardware and peripheral. The reset button is hard to press on to reset the game and no longer works and the control buttons are less responsive that you have to press the controls hard enough for action response. Other than that, the console is good and if in great condition, awesome. Tip: Always ask the seller of interest for both appearance and condition of items and/or parts before purchasing online.

A couple of months ago, I was browsing old You Tube clips when I came across someone playing the Sega Genesis. It was my very first game console, the one that made me the gamer I was today. I had to have it back. I gave my first one to a family relative about eight years ago, thinking I was done with it and the urge to play would never return, boy was I wrong. I picked up a used one, but it was slightly broken so I looked on Amazon for a replacement console (since the other one had all the wiring already) It was the first time had bought anything from Amazon's separate sellers so of course, I was skeptical. LevlUPGaming caught my eye and I was able to contact them over the phone, told them I was interested in purchasing a console to replace the broken one. They were kind enough to keep in contact with me and send me a picture of a console that had barely any cosmetic damages (a few scuff marks in the back but the top of it looked impressive}. Shipping only took a weekend which was great since this came across the country and was suppose to come in 2 weeks later. (let me also add, this was a lot better looking then my pervious used console) Everything is in perfect order for a 25 year old system. The head jack works, the reset button works and the game plays great with just an AV hookup. Of course, sometimes games don't want to work right away so it takes a few times of taking it out and putting it back in, however, that's to be expect of a console that is a quarter decade old. I am more than satisfied with my Sega Genesis, the customer service of LevlUpGaming, and the feeling of reliving some old memories from my childhood. Thank you again, LevlUpGaming!

I chose this rating because Everything was working Perfect One Thing I Didn't like is that the Power AC cord was said to be included, and it probably was, but there was a hole in the package and that is probably where it fell out of. One more thing that was negative is that the package Was packed with No Bubble rap. So the console was probably banging around in the package. Over All It works Perfectly

It was Chanukah 1991 i was 11 years old. My dad came home with Huge box wrapped in tin foil. When i opened it i was blown away. it was a sega genesis ! i had wanted one so bad because of the 16 bit graphics. i had played on my brothers Atari and his Nes but this was my own console. 20 plus years later the baby still works. i still remember the system being well built and being well assembled. There are lots of tittles and some are reallly cheap. This was sega at its best. while i don't really remember the pros and cons of the system (i have only turned it on in the last 5 years but have not played a game in 15 years on it) i will go over some great games Sonic 2 Mortal Kombat Eternal champions Flashback the quest for identity (amazing game great graphics) Red zone Truxton Zany golf Burning force All in all if you can get one get one. Its one of the best systems of all time
