Great indoor and outdoor stove
The Fore Winds by Iwatani Rugged Camp Butane Stove is an outstanding choice for any outdoor enthusiast. One of its best features is how easy it is to use. Setting up the stove is a breeze, with a straightforward design that allows you to get cooking in no time. The ignition system works flawlessly, and attaching the butane canister is quick and secure, ensuring you're ready to go with minimal effort. What truly sets this stove apart is its ability to keep the butane canister at an optimal operating temperature, even in colder environments. This is a game-changer for those who enjoy camping in varying conditions, as it ensures consistent performance without having to worry about the fuel source losing pressure.Wind resistance is another major highlight. The design of the stove is built to handle outdoor elements, and even in windy conditions, the flame stays strong and steady. This is a huge advantage when cooking outside, as many stoves struggle with flame control when exposed to the elements. The construction is also top-notch. The Fore Winds stove feels sturdy and durable, able to withstand rugged camping trips. It has a robust build that gives you confidence it will hold up over repeated use in tough environments. Additionally, it comes with a very nice carrying case, which not only makes it easy to transport but also provides protection when it's not in use.Overall, this is a well-built, highly reliable butane stove that performs excellently in outdoor settings. If you're looking for a durable, wind-resistant, and easy-to-use stove, the Fore Winds by Iwatani Rugged Camp Butane Stove is definitely worth considering. Highly recommended for campers and outdoor cooks!

Powerful, can simmer, not leak-proof like an old model
I got this to replace my 30-year old Iwatani stove. This is much more powerful and seems to use the fuel more efficiently. It is easy to control the output, and I can simmer, which is different from the old model. However, the leak-proofing safety feature in the old model is missing from this new one. The old model had a lever next to the dial, to place the fuel in/out of the "on mode" where gas can come out. When the lever is not down, the dial doesn't even turn. The new model doesn't have the lever. The dial can turn while the fuel canister is not completely out, i.e. gas can leak. Also, the dial doesn't have any marking or doesn't click for me to know it is turned off. As long as we make sure gas is not leaking, this is great.

Dirty and damaged item sent as new- absolute junk
Missing outer product sleeve, dirty and damaged outer case, unit has metal damage and butane cover damaged. This is my 2nd dissapointing experience with this specific product which I now suspect uses sub par quality units from Iwatani Japan and remarkets them as "Forewinds/Rugged stove". It's all BS. Furthermore, these units do not have to pass the same CSA Japanese certification specs. The igniter is different (this per the Forewinds contact here in the USA).I have since received 2 brand new Iwatani units from Japan at a great price, sealed in box, no flaws or defects. Price significantly lower than what is offered here. So there it is.I would avoid this item - I have experience with 2 and both were damaged and did NOT look new, with one item even missing the outer product sleeve. YMMV, but this was my experience. When possible, opt for the TRUE Japanese certified product, and not this rebranded,2nd quality/factory defect/used and damaged JUNK.

Quality Second to None
Is this expensive? Yes. Will it last over 10 years? Yes. Is it 2x times better than a cheaper stove? It’s 3x times better. If you go outdoors and use a larger pan/pot, this is a must. I get sketchy with other stoves using 10” pans. I can use a 12” pan and be comfortable.Note that the magnetic union requires you to keep it clean.

She’s a beauty
Amazing heat output and lives up to the Force Winds.I got this to add to my outdoor kitchen set up because our old portable cooker isn’t able to hold a steady flame in a slight breeze. I tested the Iwatani fire consistency with a Dyson fan set on the highest level and the fire stayed blue and hot with no dead spots.Definitely a keeper
