It does what it is supposed to do!
I have gone through several of the Hayward chlorinators and decided this time to try something different. This did exactly what it is supposed to do and saved me money. If your chlorine tablets are dissolving slowly then your pool is being chlorinated. It was a little difficult to tighten the hose but I did with tools and had no leaks. When reading some of the negative reviews, keep in mind you have to make sure you attach the correct fittings to each inlet/outlet. There is a certain way to do it so if your not sure google a video on how to do it correctly.

Leaks and the control valve is not functioning consistently or at all.
This is not a replacement for the Hayward CL-220 off-line. It is supposed to be. The parts are cheap and immediately one of the check valve inlet cracked. Takes a while to get the leaks to stop. Use a lot of teflon tape. Finally, the control valve does not work consistently.. and usually it has to be near wide open in order to work. . Actually at this point (6 weeks installed), I have it all the way open and it isn't feeding enough chlorine into the pool.Hoped to save a few bucks, but it isn't going to work going forward. Time to get the Hayward brand that has worked well for me in the post.

Compression fittings were poorly injected molded and leaked. Had to buy additional fittings. Do not buy this unit.

Defective unit — no water flow at all
I bought this chlorinator a month ago, filled it with chlorine tablets, and set the flow valve to maximum. Three weeks later, my pool turned green. I decided to open the chlorinator to add more chlorine, and I was shocked: all the tablets were completely intact, just sitting there, and the chamber was only half full of water.There is absolutely no water flow going through this unit. It's completely useless. Do not recommend.

This is not a Hayward. Black tubing that comes with it does not fit any fittings. sending it back. do not buy this product.
