great production, fantastic mixing, interesting arrangements. Great features. Love this record. Just wish the outside sleeve was blue and not white like the album art. But very happy with this addition to my collection

I'm mostly reviewing the vinyl for people who want to buy the album and aren't sure whether to spend the extra money for the vinyl version.But first, about the music itself: This is a fun collection of laid-back and mostly lesser known music that I think is inoffensive at worst and enjoyable (though not essential for most people) at best. Judge for yourself: you can stream the album on Spotify, TIDAL, etc, or listen to the track samples here. I give the music 3 1/2 to 4 stars and I don't think most people would regret spending $12 for the CD.But what if you're a vinyl enthusiast? The LP costs more than twice as much as the CD, is it worth it?In my opinion, no. I have the LP version and a good enough stereo system to tell the difference between really good sounding LPs, average ones, and poor ones. This is an average-sounding record.The pressing itself is quite good. The record is perfectly flat with no flaws. The problem is the audio of the master used to make this record. The audio master sounds as compressed as the CD or CD-quality FLACs of this recording. Basically, listening to the LP is like listening to the CD but with the potential of an LP's surface noise and pops and scratches.I love vinyl records, but they're less convenient than digital media for sure. And they cost a lot more. So I only recommend buying the LP if it sounds better. This LP doesn't, and isn't worth the money in my opinion.But the CD might be.

I first heard of this band way back in 2016 and I've got to say that I wasn't sure what to expect given their band name "BADBADNOTGOOD." At first, I thought it was just a random band that was making music, but it wasn't until I started listening to many songs by them that I knew that they weren't just any band. This album by them truly proves that, and the song that completely stands out is "In Your Eyes."A song so beautiful and so well crafted that can make any grown man cry.

Quite good this album

A great mixture of styles, from blues to hip hop with very good jazz as its backbone. I really like "Confessions pt 2", "Hyssop of Love" and "In Your Eyes". The album is solid and it was a wise idea to add a sax player to the group (hence the title 'IV'?).

Acid jazz, chill/lounge feel to collection of modern,soulful tunes. Hard to believe skinny white boys produced this effort.

An excellent jazz album; many tracks are collaborations with other artists, e.g., "In Your Eyes" with Charlotte Day Wilson.

Un álbum qué debe escuchar quien sea si inmediatamente le gusta la música.Recomiendo mucho escucharlos y tenerlo, La propuesta central de la banda es la fusión del jazz con el hip hop instrumental, lo cual les da un toque especial y único a este gran álbum titulado IVLas joyas del álbum son: Time Moves Slow e In your eyes.El envío de prime cómo siempre excelente, llego antes de los previsto.

ヒップホップ方面のメジャーアーティストとのコラボですっかり有名になったバンドだが、彼ら自身のアルバムは、サンプリング文化を通過した後のフリーキーなジャズファンク。所謂ライブラリーミュージックとしての70sのクロスオーバージャズ、言ってみれば、これが彼らの奏でている音楽ジャンルに一番近いのでしょうが、人力ジャズファンクのまな板の上に、現代のカッティングエッジなジャンルの音楽を次々と乗せて行っている感じで、当時のクロスオーバージャズとも空気感は異なる。バカテクミュージシャン なおかつ レコードマニア、そんな人たちが集まって、サンプリングミュージックによく使われるようなシネマティックなライブラリーミュージックを楽しみながら人力でグルーヴィに奏でている、そんな感じ。コンセプトとしては他のバンドでも見られるコンセプトではあるのだが、このバンドはとにかくそれを素晴らしい楽曲としてまとめ上げるスキルがあり、聴いているだけで気分が高揚し、尚且つ音楽的偏差値を深めていけるような過去の音楽をサンプリングした興味深い仕掛けが、箇所箇所に仕掛けられている。スカミックなジャケットを含めて現代を象徴する音の一つ。是非その混沌としたグルーヴに身を任せてみてほしい。
