For the les side, the end that meets up with this will need almost a whole pad- do not cut in center. Not sure how strong these are in regards to maintaining connectivity. Seems that a little mech. movement at that joint would compromise power. On the one I used, it seems tight.

I have zero experience as an electrician but I finally finished installing led lights into my library bookshelves and hooked them up to alexa. It was not an easy project but these connectors are sturdy and wont break. Lining up the strips with the metal claws was annoying at times, and I had to switch out led strips to get a more reliable connection.

Stay away from these connectors. They are inconsistent in the application - meaning you will do it the exact same way and one strip will not have the correct colors because the metal piece didn't puncture the right area. And also think about that - it's puncturing your light strip. It's extremely difficult to install - extremely frustrating especially when doing multiple items, I don't think it's worth it in the long run. I'm almost finished with my project - I only have four more shelves out of a total of 24, and this was by far the worst experience of it. Unfortunately I don't have an alternative idea outside of soldering - but buyer beware with these!

helped me make a quick connection from the end of one ribbon to a wired connector that I cut and spliced the wire to. Just match up the correct wire to the color on the ribbon and TADAAA
