Product Description We rely on our phones so much these days. They are amazing pieces of technology but do us no good when they run out of power. While portable battery packs help extend the life of phone batteries it’s only a matter of time before they lose power. Solar chargers are great in some situations but only provide limited power and only when the conditions are favorable. What if you can get the same amount of power as a wall charger for your phone anywhere and anytime? This was our inspiration for creating the AMPware crankcase. We want to enable users to get that extra power source whenever they need it. Where its for travel, emergencies, or daily use you can now charge your phone anytime and anywhere with AMPware’s Crankcase! From the Manufacturer On-Board Generator The case includes a generator built in that is powered by a hand crank that flips out. To operate the generator flip out the crank on the back and pop up the rubberized grip for comfort. The crank works in either direction and power is being supplied to the case when the green LED at the bottom is lit up. Power in = Power Out The power output is entirely dependent on the speed of rotation and is capable of outputting 1000 ma which is similar to many wall chargers. At the proper speed roughly 1.5 minutes of cranking can increase battery life by 1%. For best results rotate at a constant speed rather than intermittent bursts. Crank arm doubles as a kickstand You can even use the handle as a convenient kickstand. Simple flip out the handle and rotate it to a comfortable angle of your preference. Advanced Green Technology Utilizes efficient permanent neodymium magnet alternator and low loss planetary gears to generate power with zero emissions day or night. Dual-Layer Protection The rubberized edges and polycarbonate core makes the case comfortable and durable. About the Startup Describe your product in 3 words. Never lose power How did you come up with the idea for this product? In 2005, Company founders Mark and Erik were both directly affected by Hurricane Katrina. Separated from loved ones, they relied solely on their cell phones to keep in contact with friends and family. Mark had a crank-powered radio with him, which was only marginally helpful in his time of need. As he grew frustrated with his crank radio, Mark wished for a crank-powered phone instead; thus, the idea for AMPware was born. What makes your product special? We are the world’s first kinetic charging case allowing users to generate their own power. What has been the best part of your startup experience? We love seeing the reaction people get when they first see the product and have the charging symbol light up on a phone. We’ve seen it hundreds of times but it never gets old for us.
