Does the eraser smear?

Hi Kevin, thank you for your question. No, you shouldn't have any issues with smearing when using the eraser on the 13-series pencils. We specially designed the erasers to work well with our paper.

Could I buy the lead and use it in a different pencil?

Any pencil body that takes 1.3mm lead will work. In my opinion, the pencil is the best part of the system. I replaced the expensive Rite in the Rain lead and use 2B 1.3mm June Gold lead. I get 120 lead for about the price of 10 here on Amazon.

do you plan on manufacturing your mechanical pencils in the usa?

It clearly says they are made in China. They were made in the USA when they were being made by Autopoint, but that stopped in 2021.
