Sculpture House Encaustic Loop Tool

This is one of my most used tools for encaustic painting. Unlike standard clay scrapers which have a pear shaped contour, this features a flat working blade, covering a broader area to achieve a nice flat surface. The scrapinf edge is about 2" wide I use this for leveling and back scraping wide areas. For finishing I use the Sculpture House Freedom Straight Encaustic Scraper which is about 3 times wider.

I have not used this tool yet however I can say it is nice and looks to be made from quality material.

Its very well made, but I was confused by the size description? Its slightly smaller than the economical ones, but the metal is stronger, keeps its shape, and it hasn't pulled loose from the wooden handle. Definitely the workhorse scraper for encaustic wax creations. If they made this larger, I'd definitely purchase another one.

Needed a broad, flat scrapping tool for smoothing the surface of my encaustic works. This tool is perfect. The price is reasonable as well.
