Forget the bottled water forever!
I got one of these units for Christmas from my wife. And after over 2-years of use we couldn't be happier. This unit reduced our PPM's from 600 to 80. Our Arrowhead bottled water came in at 150-ppm's. The water tastes great and the system works like a charm! The permeate pump is definitely the ticket. The pressure coming out of the RO tap is excellent and the recharging of the system is very rapid. It does make a clicking or thumping sound when the permeate pump is recharging the system. I'd rather it was quiet, however after doing quite a bit of research I feel the permeate pump is the best overall solution to increasing the out-flowing water pressure, as well as, permitting the membrane to function optimally.Note: I had some shipping damage to the unit, but the supplier included so many extra fittings and such that I was able to fix the damaged parts myself and get the system up and running without having to wait for parts to be sent.Stop buying bottled water and get one of these units now! You will not be sorry. Seriously, you will wonder why you've been buying bottled water all this time. You'll never want to pay for bottled water again once you taste this water and realize it's now costing you a few penny's per gallon to produce.UPDATE: It's been 6-years now and this unit has been functioning perfectly the entire time. The unit still looks brand new. It just needs filter changes once a year to keep it working perfectly. I will never be without an RO system again ever. This is one of the absolute best investments I've made in my home. It's rigged up to the refrigerator so it makes the ice really nice and supplies the water coming out of the fridge door. Note: You need a system with a permeate pump to be able to power your fridges ice making equipment. The water tastes sweet like a high mountain stream. fyi, the water that comes out of the unit is right around 30-ppm. I run at 80-ppm because of the water sitting in the storage tank over time tends to rise in ppm, which is common and somewhat normal when storing the water under pressure. This amount of change is undetectable from drinking perspective.
