Inspiring Book About a Woman Scientist
This is an excellent book about a woman scientist/mathematician that lived in a time that upper class women were only considered useful at home. This true story is interesting for young girls looking for the heroines of the early days of scientific exploration.

great for children
This book is delightful and suitable for children. It could contain a little more information about her which is why I give it 4 stars.

Not For Children
I wanted to like this book but it's horribly written. It says it's for 4 to 8 year olds but it's written for an adult audience. The vocabulary used is unnecessarily challenging for a child and at an adult level. The writing style is overly verbose, confusing, and beyond the comprehension of children. For example topics, like Ada's parents divorce, are covered in a way that's intended to be witty but the topic is covered in such an indirect way that it's just confusing to a child. We only made it halfway through before giving up on it. The author seems completely unfamiliar with children. One of the worst books for children I've attempted to read in a long time. I regret purchasing.

I thought I knew about this lady, but I learned so much more from reading this fascinating book. And the illustrations are the best part - Jessie Hartland's sly humor shines through the heavy petticoats and mathematical concepts.

So many interesting details about this amazing female scientist
Fascinating book- and inspiring too. So many interesting details about this amazing female scientist. My daughter especially loves that she grew up without a dad too :)

Don't Buy
Very poorly documented and printed in mico fine print, such that you need a magnifier to read it. As well the documentation is sadly lacking in instructions as to its use, eg the 1st and 3rd bottoms are nowhere labeled as to their function. The on-line description does not indicate where it is strictly for bromine or chlorine use or both. Sometimes does not read the strip. I would not recommend this product.

Nice, but not for 7 year old girl.
Currently there are a lot of books emerging about outstanding women and Ada Lovelace is clearly one of them. The book is nicely illustrated, hence quite difficult for a 7 year old girl.
